Palm one address database in old mdb extension how to convert to .dat extension

I am assuming you are using windows and not MAC? Since you have stated you are using MS access file format, it should be PD 6.2. There is no way to convert the file format that I am aware of.

You will need to "clean" uninstall PD 6.2 and install PD 4.1.4e.

Here is the link to PD 4.1.4e

After you install 4.1.4e, create the same username you had on the previous install of PD, close PD, navigate to c-program files-palm and find the username folder. Paste the address.dat file you have into the address folder in the username folder. Open PD and see if the data is there.

Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that is convenient. Name it something like Palm Desktop Data. (If you need help on the export the manual details are here)

Make sure you select all for the range in the export window.

With the data saved in the folder you created, make a copy of that folder and save to a flash drive, cd-rw or external hard drive.

Anytime you make a change in Palm Desktop, export the data that was changed to that folder and save again to the external media.

With this process you can always import the data back into Palm Desktop anytime you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop or if your computer/hard drive/device crashes.

I hope that helps and I have answered everything.

Need to unlock palm centro start up lock

Maybe you should give it back to the person it was stolen from! Interesting how easy these "experts" make it for thieves! It would be nice if someone was watching who was making posts like these, they might find my last Palm Centro, and quite a few others I'm sure!

My voice drops out on palm treo 650

Sorry, no solution - just some added info. I have the same problem with a Palm Centro. Changed sim card (O2) but no improvement. Palm eventually replaced Centro, but fault persists. Anyone with similar problems / solutions?

I bought a used Palm TX Handheld can't clear previous owners password.....Can it be reset to change the password?

Yes it can. Hold the power button down and use the stylus to push in the reset button on the back of the TX. Keep holding the power button down till you see the screen powering up. Then let the power button go, you should see a menu asking if you want to reset the unit. select yes (qui). then it will clear all the data and password off.
Then download the latest Palm Desktop Manager and the Hotsync from this site:

Purchased a used Palmlllxe and need the start up cd and owners manual

Here you go.
http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/47831_en.html#palm3xe
This has links to manuals and software. To get started you need the Palm Desktop, which allows you to backup and restore most of your data. This also provides the Hotsync Manager utility, whcih you can use for installing applications and syncing.

for baba here is the link for Tx

Palm treo 650 wont get service

If the phone is new to you, (different story if it was working on cingular before .. let me know if it was)
It sounds like it is sim locked, the phone needs unlocking.
If you can contact the previous owner and ask them what network it was on and borrow a sim card from that network it will verify the phone isn't faulty or blocked
The previous owner may be able to get it unlocked for you via there provider else somewhere like www.650unlock.com will do it for about $15 (I'm not recommending them, just one of the first in a search) Its worth googleing "treo 650 unlock" and shopping around also check 650 forums for recommendations

Best of luck

Tungsten E and Outlook 2003 sync problem

yes I moved my files to a new machine and reinstalled palm (which of course also created the dreaded multiple copies of many palm contacts, when palm discovered older archives, but that is another story!) I wouldn't mind that if the palm pilot would just sync with outlook 2003. It synched with Outlook 2000 on my old machine.
