I have lost my manuel for my magellan 4000. Is there anyway that i can get another one? Magellan SportTrakMap handheld GPS

i fix these 4000 and many other magellan gps daily so when considering my advice , please understand i do not google my solutions

assuming your car charger is working (the little green light is on) and your 4000 still wont start up after holding the power button while its plugged in for up to ten seconds and still does not start..read below

this is actually a very common problem with these magellan power ports...they are poor quality from the factory and always and i mean always fail..the new ports that you find on ebay are 100% better then the factory port.

if your able to replace that power port yourself, you can get one HERE, if not, ask the fellow that sells them for help.

I recommend you to replace the battery . It seems that the battery is dead [ can't be recharged anymore ] .

Magellan 800, 860, 2000, 2200t, 2500, 3000, 3050, 3100, 3140, 4000, 4040, 4050, 5310 and 6000t

must remove external card from slot before removing 4 screws at rear of unit. cover snaps off, unplug speaker wire, unplug battery, new battery plugs in, reassemble.

Don't buy a Magellan. There is little to no support, and their web based support redirects to no where useful for upgrades. I'd sell you my 4040, but can't in good conscience sell it to anyone.
