I recommend going to the manufacturer's website. They almost always have free driver downloads for their products.

My Akai Mpk25 works fine on my windows 7 system. When i plug the usb into the windows Xp system it asks for drivers which are not present. Help plz

Hello,
You would need the manufacturer's device driver for Windows XP. Although it appears Windows 7 has the driver pre-built in, Windows XP does not have a lot of drivers for modern devices.
Got o Akai's website and download the drivers and install them on the Windows XP system and you should be good to go!

Canon Canoscan D1259U2F dont have any driver for Windows 7 64-bit

the only successful method I found for using CanoScan D1250U2F in 64 bit Windows 7 (I guess the same would be for 64 bit Vista) is to use Windows XP Mode in Virtual PC (attach the scanner as USB device and that's it - works perfectly)

I had a problem with Windows 7 detecting the device as CanoScan (needed for Windows XP Mode to detect is as USB device and allow attach) - the solution was to unplug the scanner, plug it in and CANCEL Windows 7 hardware detection process before it finishes - this leaves it as "CanoScan" device (auto-detect will leave it as "Unrecognized device" and with that unusable/un-attachable in Windows XP Mode)

latest versions of Windows XP Mode will make your hard drives accessible as network locations (no need for external media)

Drivers for HP pavilion with win xp

HP does not offer Windows XP drivers.

But, the chipsets on the HP computer are made by 3rd party companies. So, you mighty find out, for example, who makes the Audio chip and on their website find generic drivers for that chip, that will work in Windows XP.

Here are some I found:

Nvidia Chipset GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 (mutiple drivers) XP DRIVERS

Realtek High Definition 8-channel audio, ALC 888S chipset XP DRIVERS

Have you already installed Windows XP on the computer? If so, did you look in the Device Manager to see what devices have problems or undefined devices with question marks?

BCCode Error

CAUSE loadTOCNode(1, 'cause'); You may receive this error message when Windows attempts to use device drivers that are incompatible with Windows XP. uparrow.gifBack to the top
RESOLUTION loadTOCNode(1, 'resolution'); To resolve this issue, verify that each device in your computer uses a driver that is compatible with Windows XP. To do so, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. 2. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager. 3. For each device, use the following steps to verify that it is using a Windows XP-compatible driver.NOTE: To narrow down the search, begin with devices that have been disabled. A disabled device has its icon overlaid with a red X.

a. Double-click the device name to open the device Properties dialog box, and then click the Driver tab. b. Examine the driver version. All Windows XP drivers should be version 5.1.2600 or later. c. If you are not sure about the displayed version, examine the driver date. Drivers created before the year 2001 may not be compatible with Windows XP. 4. After you identify an outdated device driver that may be causing the problem, follow these steps to update the driver: a. Insert your Windows XP CD into the CD-ROM drive. If Setup starts automatically, quit it. b. In the device Properties dialog box, click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard. c. Click Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), and then click Next. d. Click to select the Include this location in the search box, and then type your CD-ROM drive letter in the space below. For example, type D:. e. Click Next. f. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish updating the driver. 5. Restart your computer if prompted.
