How can change the password of Toshiba estudio 223 copier

The pass word was set up with the office manager/admin. They were given a code as well. having both codes means you are Authorized. The op manual describes it really well and has one of the best explanations in the industry. The Toshiba is a great copier and had a lot of success in mid sized environments.the password you are referring to is to wake it up and make copies? or to change department parameters? without sacrificing your offices secure integrity I must stick with the User manual, usually kept directly behind the copier in a holder of it's own.( if the holder broke it probably in the cabinet below) hope this helps a little~ surely if you're on the up and up you'll understand why copiers have passwords... Our canon C3220 is not printing from one of the computers in the office. It is putting all print jobs on hold due to authentication required

Auth Required sounds odd. The only thing i could think would cause this is if the copier itself has Department Managment enabled. This is used to limit printing by quanity and sometimes restricting color prints. IF everyone else in the office is required to enter a code to print and this one does not then you need to enable department ID via the driver settings. Right Click your print driver and go to properties and select "Device Settings" from the tabs on the top of the window. Under this menu there should be a box that says Department ID select that and try it out. Another way is to "aquire" the copiers device status a button labeled somewhat to this effect should also be in that same window.3_15_2012_4_29_14_am.jpg

Unable to photo copy- error exceeded copy limit

if department code is activated it could be the key operator or copier administrator has limited or set the number copies you can make in a day/month in your account( dept id code) or the original you are copying has to much data on that (example pictures and etc.) try to reduce the number of original so that the scanner memory will not exceed its capacity.

Print a user data list.
Find your IP address. Enter the IP address into your web browser. This will present you with the RemoteUI interface.
Go to additional functions and select department ID management.
You can also do this on models that have a touch screen by pressing additional functions and pressing the department id management button.

NOPE...call a service company to reset it - I bet it's going to need some service anyway once you can get a copy out.

Copy limit

the only way is to goto additional functions > System Settings> dept I.D > set a user code and password, then you can set a copy limit per user id, once a copy limit is reached you have to reset it or create a new user I.D. Thats the only way, you can also get reports on how many copies each I.D has done..

Hope this helps

User Code

You may want to print this out because it is long.
Adding codes
Adding codes is really pretty simple.
First Add a System Manager code:
  • Press the 'additional functions' button to the right of the touch screen.
  • Press the 'system settings' button ON the touch screen.
  • Press the 'system manager settings' button on the touch screen.
  • Press the 'system manager' button on the touch screen and then use the touch screen to enter the system manager's name. Press 'done' when you have finished.
  • Press the 'system manager id' button on the touch screen and use the numeric keypad located to the right of the touch screen to create the id.
  • Press the 'system password' button on the touch screen and enter a numeric password for the system manager. YOU SHOULD MAKE A NOTE OF THE SYSTEM MANAGER ID AND PASSWORD, AS THIS WILL BE NEEDED TO CHANGE SETTINGSLATER.
  • Press 'next' on the touch screen.
  • Press 'email address' to add an email address for the system manager.
  • Press 'contact information' to add an extension to reach the system manager at.
  • Press 'ok' to complete the process.
  • Press 'done'.
Next add user codes:
  • Press the 'additional functions' button
  • Press 'system settings' button on the touch screen.
  • Press 'department id management' on the touch screen.
  • Press the 'on button' on the touch screen.
  • Press the 'store dept. id / password' button on the touch screen.
  • Press 'store' on the touch screen.
  • Press 'department id' on the touch screen and then enter a numeric code using the keypad.
  • If you want additional security you can also set up a password by pressing 'password' on the touch screen and, using the numeric keypad again, enter the password. The password can be left blank if desired.
  • Additionally you can set an impression limit for that user by pressing 'impression limit' on the touch screen.
  • Press 'ok' on the touch screen to add the user.
  • If you wish to limit impressions then you must press the 'limit impress.' Button on the touch screen.
  • If you want to add more users at this time go back to step 6.
  • Press the 'done' button.
  • Press the 'off' button at the bottom of the touch screen next to 'accept jobs with unknown id.
  • Click 'ok' to complete the process and start using the copier or go back to step 5 to add more users.
After this process users will have to enter a user id to use the machine. At the end of the copying process users should press the 'id' key located at the bottom right of the keypad to logout. The machine will automatically log users out if there has been no activity for a few minutes and this can be changed by pressing 'timer settings' in the additional functions.
While this seems like a lot it actually doesn't take very long to do. There is a far more elegant set of instructions in the 'reference guide' that came with the machine, which includes pictures, and starts on page 4-2.
