1 Answer

SANGEAN ATS505 Hai users, After 2years i wanted to use my Sangean ATS505 agian. I have put this receiver away with no batteries in the battery compartiment. When i used the batteries nothing seemed to work. I switched over to use an AC/DC adapter, NOTHING seemed to work. Details, no display no sound no backlight on the display. I have opened the radio mesured the "power supply". There is power, there is no current. So the receiver doesn't get any power. Does someone no what's the problem with this receiver? Please let me know.

My Sangean ATS 808 AM/FM/SW Radio reciever shows a flashing E on startup and won't operate. Any answers on resetting or other solution?

Hello, I assume that this only happens when you are using it on batteries and the unit works when plugged into the mains. If this is the case it most likely is a faulty or dirty connection in the main battery chamber. Clean all contacts reload new batteries and try again.

I have a Sangean ATS 818cs portable radio but no 6v lead input

Yes you can use any 6 volt DC for your radio but the most IMPORTANT thing to remember is to connect the terminals in the correct direcction. First of all you can solder a red wire from the positve terminal of the battery and a black wire from the negative terminal of the battery. This must be connected to the source of your 6 volt battery. You can buy a good DC jack socket female to be fitted into the vacant spot of your radio and use a male jack to supply the DC. Only be carefully to see the polarity. To avoid any reversing of polarity use can even connect a diode in the forwarrd bias towards the positve terminal. This will prevent any wrong connection of polarity to damage your set. Helpful? Good day

Sangean PR-D3L - How do I change between 12 and 24

Archer, I have read the entire PR-3DL manual and there appears no mention of a 12/24 hr setting, unlike certain other Sangean radios. The instructions for setting the alarm do not mention 'a.m.' or 'p.m.' .

Apparently, the clock is a 24:XX:XX display only.

Bad adapter?

Dear Kerman,

Sounds like AC hum on your adapter; please find out the adpter voltage and polarity, on the adapter tips, maybe you user manual might have the information. Also the current rating of your adapter.

Try a replacement of the same rating and tip polarity.

That might solve the problem.

WX cc Sangean radio cuts out

The ATS-818 needs a transformer. The transformer converts AC power to the DC used by the radio, so no. You need the transformer.

Sangean ATS 606 A Portable Radio

Remove the battery compartment door and the batteries. There should be a small hole marked "reset" under the upper battery cradle. Press (gently...until it clicks) and hold for 5 seconds. Replace batteries and try again.
