This shredder just stopped working. Indicator lamps come on (all except "R" light). The unit was never jammed or forced. There is no smell that could be associated with electrical burning or melting, motor overloaded and running hot, etc. The gearbox is in good shape and moving freely. Is there anything else I should look at (fuses, reset buttons, etc. or even electronic components)?
Oh, I did check to make sure the outlet I'm plugging it into has power!

First check the power point is still working - plug in another appliance, like a table lamp. If OK check the fuse in the shredder cable plug.
The commonest reason for a shredder stopping is a paper jam, or running the shredder for too long. By 'too long', many shredders will cut-out after 5 minutes continuous working, and the sensor may take 15 minutes to cool down! Read the manual.
It maybe that the shredder cutters are jammed. Unplug from mains, and lift off top and place upside down. Use a small screwdriver and/or long nosed pliers to poke at any compressed paper wrapped around the blades - can take a while.
There is a sensor in the bin area of the machine that is faulty. If you have cleaned the bin area completely and still have that problem then the sensor is bad and will have to be replaced. Look on the manufacturer website for the replacement part.
