Question about IBM ThinkPad 600X Notebook
Can you give any advice.
I have an Old IBM Thinkpad whose batteries were completely drained.
I have recharged the main battery and replaced the CMOS battery, which has fixed the errors that I was getting about lost configuration data.
But now all I get is a Black screen with IBM and Thinkpad on it but with NO icons and NO mouse pointer.
Is this ONE DEAD PC?
May be the CMOS battery you replaced is not compatible or firmly placed.
Check if you can enter in BIOS and change setting for Power option.
Generally, F2 , ESC or DEL key used to get in BIOS.
Also you may try Tapping F8 key during startup of PC to get in Safe Mode, and then Check for Event viewer entries if any red cross entries and error found in System and Application.
For more geniune Fix to Problem, please ask to EKSE (Guru), as he is more experienced and well equipped to solve such problems.
In any case let me know the status, and do not vote till you get the solution.
