You could try unistalling the dvd and then reinstalling it.

We have a Toshiba Satellite lap top. It was working about an hour ago, when we down loaded a BIOS upgrade from 1.4 to 1.5. After the down load and reboot the lap top now has a black screen with no wording....

BIOS updates sometimes cause the motherboard to revert to its default configuration. I recommend that you go into the BIOS setup and examine the Boot Devices and Boot Order to make sure that your hard drive is selected as the first boot device.

Good luck!

I install windows7 in my computer but my motherboard drivercd doesnot work in windows7

It appears your pc isn't recognizing you DVD or CD player. If you have a DVD player - be sure the proper drivers are set and most important - the DVD is seen in the BIOS.
Also - be sure you have a working DVD as Windows 7 is on a DVD not a CD rom.

Best of it

My laptop doesn't produce any sound.

Did you check start->control panel->system->hardware tab-> device manager and see if there are any errors related to your sound drivers? Probably see a yellow exclamation

This is usually happen when the scanner driver is now properly intalled. So rt on my computer, click on mannager ,device mannage, choose the scanner driver , click on uninstall the driver. or remover the device. restart the computer. on the scanner then your computer will search the for the driver then place the disk driver and setup the driver. i hope that your sanner will work.

Optiarc DVD Drive does not work anymore.

Try uninstalling the device in the Device Manager, then restart the computer. See if Windows redetects the device and reinstall it. Next, try accessing the BIOS and see if the BIOS sees it, and be sure its enabled there. If both of these options fail, open the machine and make sure that the drive has a working power connector attached. If the connector is bad, switch the power lead over to a working connector.

My problem is that my system does'nt show any dvd drive in Lap

I had the same problem, it occurred right after windows installed sp2 and my laptop showed no dvd player with any program, I restored my laptop to the previous day before the update and it worked fine again, after that I just let windows update by itself and it has been a week and everything is fine, also in device manager open the dvd + sign and right click your dvd and click update drivers, if that does not work, right click your dvd, and then click delete, and then reboot your computer, laptop whatever and the computer will automatically recognize the player on startup and it will install again and hopefully that will get your drivers updated, do not worry about deleting the dvd player, it will reinstall all by itself, just have to reboot..thanks

My new DVD player will play all CDs except the ones I burned on my laptop. Why is this and how can I get the DVD player to play those CDs? when I record a dvd on my lap top it will allow me to play it...

Hi,
it,s one of 2 things.
1:) your recording MP3 to CD. Only recognised on a PC, or MP3 Player. The standard CD Format Is WAV.
If you burn with Nero. you should have a tickbox Which Says ( Normalise all audio Files )
2:) the disk is not finalised. Closed having written the T.O.C Table-Of Contents. this is to allow the reader viewing it, what is actually written on the disk.
