Question about HP OfficeJet 7410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Paper tray won't feed paper & I get a false paper Jam code

Upon observation it appears that the tray mechanism doesn't lift the paper up to the rollers for proper feeding. I can hear a different sound when it malfunctions and then I get a "Paper Jan in Tray 2" code. The single sheet feed seems to still work.
Look inside, I found a loose spring and replaced it and got one more day of service. Now it is misbehaving again and the spring is still in place. - Co-incidently I noticed my magenta toner is leaking. Don't know if I have 2 problems or 1.

where did you buy the spring?

We have two of these HP Officejet 7410xi all-in-one printers. Both have developed paper feed problems on the lower tray. The upper tray works fine.

We cleaned the feeder rollers but it did not help.

One printer is feeding the sheets from the upper tray crooked. So we have retired that printer for now.

Has any one had this same problem and if so any fixes?

This might work for you - it worked for me. HP paper was feeding crooked. Checked the "Paper Type/Quality" in the printing options window - mine was set to Photo Paper. When I changed it to Plain Paper, the paper fed evenly. Hope this works for you.

Paper jam error code 13.01.00 hp 3505n printer

Turn the printer around and lift the flap behind the paper tray. If you have a flashlight, get it. You want to watch the action of the paper pickup roller. By observing to see if it is rotating, slipping on the paper or whatever, you should be able to determine why the paper isn't feeding. A lot of times, it is as simple as the paper backstop has slid back and the roller can't grab the paper that is 2 inches out of reach. Since you've replaced the tray and paper, I would think you might have noticed that. Is the paper moving out of the tray at all?

Hi Rosa,
There was a paper jam and you cleared the jam, however you missed out to do one other thing. Cleaning the Rollers.

If the Paper Feed Roller is dirty or paper powder is attached to it, paper may not be fed properly.
In this case, clean the Paper Feed Roller. Cleaning will wear out the Paper Feed Roller, so perform this only when necessary.

You need to prepare: three sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper

1.Make sure that the power is turned on, and remove any paper from the Rear Tray.

2.Open the Paper Output Tray gently, and open the Output Tray Extension.

3.Clean the Paper Feed Roller without paper.

(1) Press the g0081065_tcm14-774017.jpg (Maintenance) button repeatedly until b appears.

g0081066_tcm14-774018.png
(2) Press the Black or Color button.
The Paper Feed Roller will rotate as it is cleaned.

4.Clean the Paper Feed Roller with paper.
(1) Make sure that the Paper Feed Roller has stopped rotating, and load three sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Rear Tray.
(2) Make sure that b appears on the LED, then press the Black or Color button.
The machine starts cleaning. The cleaning will be completed after the paper is ejected.

This should fix the issue

Brand: Brother Model: HL-2040 Problem: cannot print, paper error, red light blink, did not feed paper. What should i do? thanks.

pull tray out load a couple sheets look underneath and see if paper is lifted up when closing paper drawer. If the paper is not raised to the up position you have broken the tray lift mechanism and it is not worth fixing. You can jam an eraser underneath the tray to manually raise the tray to do a dodgy fix.

Cannot see a paper jam even when the messages say there is a Medi

The paper tray should lift to present the paper to the feed assembly. If the paper tray does not lift then that will require attention and a fairly extensive strip down to replace either the complete tray or just the lift assembly.

Paper Jam

Open up the doors and blow some compressed air throughout the paper path (where the paper travels up). Make sure to blow air onto the sensors, because paper dust can coat them, causing false jams.

Does the paper get out of the tray at all? There is a feed roller that feeds the paper up into the machine; if you remove the paper tray you can see this roller -- it's big and gray and has grooves across it -- above where the paper sits toward the front of the printer. Blow air onto this roller as well, and if you have either D-ink or a rubber rejuvinator, clean the roller with a lint-free cloth.

Also make sure the paper is snug in the tray and not bent or crooked.

Canon 710i

Can you look into the paper tray and actually see if the feed rolls are turning? You may have either a bad paper feed clutch, or the solonoid that releases the feed rollers is bad.
Also the paper tray should move up and down when the paper feeds to move the paper against the rollers. Up to feed down to eliminate paper drag. One of those fingers that raise the tray may be binding against the bottom of the tray not allowing proper movement.
If you can get a flash light and observe what is going on. Then let me know.
