Question about ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Motherboard

4GB memory not being recognized

Hey guys, just a quick question before I start playing the which stick of memory is f'd game..

I recently installed 4GB RAM last night (G.SK 400 F1-3200PHU2-2GBZX). All motherboard slots are working fine (just uninstalled 4 x 512MB and computer recognized 2 GB), but my computer is only recognizing 3GB RAM. Every site I look up regarding the ASUS A8N Premium says that it supports up to 4GB. Is there something I'm missing? Do I need to update my BIOS? Could that even be the problem? Or did one stick come DOA from NewEgg,...what's your best guess guys....thanks

Thank you for responding back, I appreciate it.

All 4 dimms are exactly the same brand and model (4 x 1GB). I pulled all 4 out and reinserted them, and still saying 3 GB...so I don't think installation was a problem if that helps. Thanks again for the response, and ideas would be appreciated

are all dimms identical ie same make and rating cos if not this motherboard has dual channel support and any dimm matched pair should go in blue slots but other 2 must also be i dentical to each other and matched in the black slots or system will only read 3 dimms. if only one pair is identical then try putting then 1 in blue socket and 1 in bl;ack socket then add the other 2 this should revert all to single channel and correct sizing error

To recognize more than 3.5GB RAM you must use a 64 bit operating system
ordinary 32 bit O/S only recognize max of 3.25 to 3.5GB ram

The memory-stick is too large to be recognized by the software inside the PSP. Find a 2GB or 1GB memory-stick.

The binary value '0111 1111 1111 1111 1111 1111 1111 1111'
is +(2**31)-1. Add '1' to it, and the binary value '1000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000'
is either +(2**31) or (-1)*zero, depending on whether the 32-bits are interpreted as either "unsigned-32-bit" integer or a "signed-31-bit" integer.

So, the PSP software cannot handle an integer value that does not fit into a 32-bit word.

Computer doesn't recognise memory stick pro duo 4gb

Hello Guys,

The computer sometimes doesn't recognize the memory stick device due to corruption, there are numerous causes for memory stick corruption for example virus attack, improper removal, wrong usage of the memory stick device and many more. After such corruption scenario data are lost from these devices, but luckily you can recover memory stick files by using an efficient recovery application like Yodot Photo Recovery. Apart from memory stick the tool also recovers files from all other devices like memory stick, hard disk, iPods, music players etc. Try using this tool to recover your data from memory stick

Not all installed memory recognized

Open your computer and install one memory stick and try powering on the computer. Try one stick at a time to determine if you have a bad memory module or a defective memory slot on the motherboard.

Custom firmware

Earlier you have said that you were able to play games from memory stick and since you updated your psp firmware the didn't worked.
First Check your current firmware version . To do this go to
Settings > System Settings > System Information on your PSP . If you your version showing  for example 5.00 M33 you are still in Custom firmware. In this case you should able to play the games from memory stick. or else you memory stick is back... or you custom settings are wrong.

If its showing  for example 5.00 you are with Sony's official firmware. In this case you wont be able to play the games from  memory stick. From here to make your PSP play the games from memory stick you need to Downgrade your PSP. Only way to make this possible is through Pandora Battery and Magic Memory Stick.
So please check your version and let me know so i can guide you further. Also tell me whether your PSP is PHAT or SLIM & LITE..... or check the version of your PSP by removing the battery. Underneth it find some letters and numbers PSP-100x / PSP-200x / PSP-300x

Save downloaded games

well, you'll require a modified firmware inorder to play games from your mem stick......now installing a custom firmware or downgrading is a risky process , so do it at your own risk! once that's done, you'd require a "ripkit" to compress the image incase if it doesn't fit in to the 1 gig stick.....get ripkits for all games from http://forums.maxconsole.net/
