I have same problem, it is a small 35 lbs a day free standing counter top ice maker. I am sure if I accidently lost owner's manual. The only sheet I have mentions to put the water into it and does not seem to be referring to a water line input to unit. I can not figure out where to put the water. thanks

Call the phone number on the back of the machine.
800-330-0388
They helped me diagnose the problem and sent me easy instructions for fixing it.
Apparently, the switches get icked up sometimes. I took off the side panel over the fan, removed one of the switches [the top one], opened the case and cleaned it off. Works like a charm.
The wonderfully helpful guy at sunpentown sent me a document with pictures showing me how to do it.

Mr freeze ice maker only making partial cubes

Oy, ice makers! This can happen if there is low water pressure, and that can happen if the water filter needs replacement. Another explanation is evaporation which can happen after even a few days. But if they come out of the ice maker small, it's probably the filter -- if it also has a water dispenser, you might notice that water comes out slowly. If the filter doesn't fix it, the actual water feed may not be providing enough water pressure for some reason ... maybe as simple as loosening the valve on the back ... but probably not likely.

there are two valves, one for ice maker and other for dispensenser, also check the tube that filles the ice maker and make sure that it's not frozen, sometimes the tube freezes but this is still caused from bad water valve

Whirlpool ice maker makes impure ice but the water is crystal clear and good. replaced filter and cleaned ice maker tray ect.... no change. Is there a way to sanitize the water line to the ice maker?

what you are seeing in the ice is the impurities in you water. you wont see them until the water freezes because you are trying to freeze the "H2O" and not the calcium and magnesium. those are what causes your ice to look cloudy.
filtering the water does help but you cant get perfectly clear ice with this type of an ice maker.
when you see "store bought" ice and it is clear, that is because it is made a different way to prevent the impurities from forming in the ice.
also the longer the ice is in your freezer, the more it will absorb from the air causing even more cloudiness.

I have a fridgeidaire refridgerator with the freezer on top with an ice maker. it was made in 1999. the ice maker just stop making ice. any clues? Angelique

Is the freezer cold enough? Should be close to 10 degrees.
Is there water or ice in the ice mold? If not put water in it and see if it dumps the ice after it’s frozen. If there is ice, lift the cut off arm and let it drop to see if it will start.
If it does dump the ice but don’t refill with water.Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Ice Maker not working

Get me the model number. Put tap water in ice maker tray and make sure arm is down. Let it freeze. Wait and see if the ice will drop, this should allow water to come into the ice maker for another run. Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Ice maker freezing up

The problem is in the water valve.
The water supply line going to the Ref is connected to a water valve. This valve is not shutting off completely which causes water to drip into the ice maker. This dripping will freeze and eventually completely block the fill tube in the freezer.

Ice maker freezing up

If it is only the fill tube that is freezing up, or getting full of ice, than your water valve is leaking (letting drops of water thru to your ice maker and filling the icemaker fill tube up and freezing). If this is the case, replace the dual water valve (part # 1071263) located in the back of the refrigerator, just follow the water line from your wall into the refrigerator. Make sure you turn off the water to the refrigerator and also unplug it. The dual water valve is the one that has two water lines, one going to the icemaker and one going to the water dispenser. On this model, I think you only have one water valve. On some you have two, the primary water valve and a secondary water valve (the dual valve). If this is your case, I would highly recommend you replace both. As far as the Refrigerator side freezing things up, I think that is a whole different issue. Please post back.
