The printer works just fine as long as I am sending items to print from the
paper tray. However, I am unable to print labels ~ specifically UPS labels.
When I insert a label sheet in the manual tray, the printer grabs the sheet, but
it doesn’t print. It comes back out completely blank and the orange light next
to the triangle is flashing. So than I have to unplug the printer and plug it
back in and push the reset (large) button in order to use it again and only from
the paper tray. If I print any regular print job, regular paper in the manual tray it works fine. It used to print UPS label and now it won't. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check the paper tray settings and make sure they are alinged with they type of paper you are using. (Ex. Letter) These settings have to be perfect in the tray so the printer knows what paper is in there. Usually when this happens the printed is asking you if you want to use the tray anyway and by pressing the button you are saying yes so it prints. Try loanding the manual tray with letter paper and see if the same thing happens.
Hi, try this.
Feed paper in tray 1.
If this works fine you better replace the roller and separation pad in tray 2.
To test where the swath of ink is comming from try this:
Feed papaer in tray 1.
Send a printjob. As soon as the paper is in the machine open the topcover.
Remove the cartridge and take out the paper carefully.
Check if the swath of ink is all over the side or only there where the paper was in the fuserunit.
If it is all over the side, the cartridge is defective. If its is only there where the paper was in the fuserunit you will have to replace the fuserunit.
Sounds like its waiting for a manual feed. Check the paper you have in the tray and that the selectors on the tray are properly positioned. Once that os done, on the computer side hit the start ICON on your desktop, then control panel, then printers and faxes. Double click on your 2100 print driver to open it. Go into properties and make sure it says "automatic" for tray select. Hit the advanced key and check that it says letter or whatever paper size you have in the tray.

TRAY 1 MODE= FIRST FIRST CASSETTE Determine how the printer will use Tray 1. FIRST: If paper is loaded in Tray 1, the printer will pull paper from that tray first. CASSETTE: A paper size must be assigned to Tray 1 using the TRAY 1 SIZE option (the next item in this menu when TRAY 1 MODE=CASSETTE). This allows Tray 1 to be used as a reserved tray. TRAY 1 SIZE= LETTER For supported paper sizes see page 1-12. This item appears only when TRAY 1 MODE= CASSETTE. Set the value to correspond with the paper size currently
HI there make sure that the paper tray guides are fully against the paper also try sending the job through the manual feed to see if you get the same problem. If you do not then it maybe that the paper cassette separation pad is worn and will need replacing. If your model has no rubber pad at the front of the cassette then you will have a metal hold over one corner of the paper make sure that when the paper lifts that the paper sits under the silver (Dog Ear) as this acts as a separator.
Have you checked that you are sending the print job using the correct paper tray on the printer?
Check the properties of the printer to ensure you are. Check also that the printer is OK by running a test print from the printer and not through the PC.
If I remember it's hold the green button for around 7-10 seconds, whilst powering on.
