I have a Dell external display connected HDMI to my Lenovo Yoga. Worked fine until today, now Dell isn't getting a signal in. I know the Dell is fine, works on other laptops, so cabling etc. is good

I know you said the cable is good but try it on something else like the TV. If the laptop connects to the TV from the HDMI the the issue will more than likely be a driver issue. Try updating you BIOS on the Lenovo and check for other driver updates, sometimes they put out updates to fix little bugs like this.

Can't restart windows 7 on my dell d610, did a format on the hd, re-loaded the windows 7 disc, everything runs great until I shut it down then it won't restart

Recently a put windows 7 on my latitude d610 only problems I had were incompat. Drivers (wifi, sound, graphics.) all were fixed with googling those drivers with windows 7 because this hardware is not compatible with 7 but seeing as it is a restart thing,

Check the drivers u have installed try to see if any need updating or are no compat.

To reset the BIOS password, you need to remove open your computer CPU or your laptop to remove the CMOS battery and return it back again. By doing it, it will reset the BIOS password and will run your computer on usual way.

I hope it helps you.

hardware, try to connect with external display via VGA connectors.. see if you have no issue to load the OS. If you still have problem, then your O/S might be corrupted you need to reinstall it but make sure you have the drivers on it. you can check the drivers here. if you don't have.

Laptop freezes when connected to external hd

I am assuming the external is connected while booting up, if so then the laptop may be seeing this unit as a bootable drive. You would need to enter into the BIOS of the laptop and change or make sure the external drive (i.e usb connection) is disabled. Save and reboot with the ext disconnected, log into windows and when it has finished loading, connect ext drive. I hope this helps.

I could probably fix or find the reason If I where near you but not much I can say from here.

Id take it to a professional for analysis, simple problem analysis shoudnt cost itself at all. so.
