Hi,

Thanks Amir, tried your suggestion but no matter which way I put the switch when I try to take a photo all that comes up on the screen is SD PROTECTED for some reason it won't read the SD card.

Thanks anyway and if you have any other idea then please let me know.

Bill.

Just check your sd card lock key... there is a small swith on the left side of moemory card; if if it is in down position, it's protected. so turn it to un protected mode. I hope this helps...

    Hi Bill,
    I'm not sure but I think it's your card, so to test it, make sure your card is in unprotected mode and do one of following ways:
    1. If you or ane of your friends have another sd card or a camera which support sd card, test your card in that camera and/or that card in your camera;
    2. If you have a card reader try to copy a file on your card or delete, move or rename one of your card's files.
    now if your card have the same problem with other cameras, your camera is good with new cards, or you cannot change your card's files in computer; your card is corrupted and you must use its waranty or buy a new one.
    PS: I'm not hopeful but sometimes (1%) formatting the card can solve the problem so you can try it before buying new one. (back up your files first.)
    I hope this helps...

I have a ViviCam 6150, it won't let me delet. The SD card keep saying protected.

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

My screen keep saying Protected Card what does that mean

You didn't specify the make and model of your camera, so I'm assuming it uses SD cards. If it doesn't, please reply to this post and specify the make and model of your camera.

Remove the memory card from your camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

The SD card is probably write protected, on the following link scroll down to "Optional write-protect tab" : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital_card
