I got a punch 450.4 car amplifier that a friend gave to me that is stuck in protect mode. he had it pushing two kicker L7 4 ohm dvc subs. is it fixable and if so what would i have to do to fix it?

Capacitors are blown on the output side most likely. That amp isn't made for subwoofers. It will cost about 100 bucks plus shipping to send it to a competent electronics shop that has the ability to to that. If you are handy with a soldering gun, you have open it up and look for blown capacitors and replace them yourself. They sell them all at Radioshack.

My amp will not turn on i think its burnt how would i fix that

Using a multimeter, check the power going to the amplifier for around 12 volts, and check the remote wire for anywhere from 3 to 12 volts. If power is getting to the amplifier and the remote wire is signalling the amp to turn on, check the fuse/s on the amplifier. If the fuse is not blown, have the amplifier checked out by a stereo shop or send it to the manufacturer for warranty repairs.

My pyle plmra 220 600 watt 4 channel amp blew out, pyler said it would be 50 dollars to send it in to them so i said to heck with that and oppened her up and found a capacitor blown, but when i replaced...

outputs also blown, go to ebay and buy a better amp form the same price you would have paid for pyle to fix that one, just keep playing with that one and you will get better at repairs, thats how i learned to fix amps.

Rockford P3001 amp not working

peel the cover completely off the amp and give it some power- if the amp is blown there will be a tiny light lit up on the circiut board that quite simply says "SHORT"-If its blown then theres nothing you can do unless you are a badass of course- but if the amp is dear to you and you want to spend a little money on it to get it up and running again- go to rockfords website and get into the forums and ask the question-where do i get my fosgate fixed and it will pull up some mumbo jumbo but it tells you about a place called LANDIS TECHNICAL that bought up all the parts to their amps and is in the business of restoring the amplifiers to their factory specs and even sends you a new power certificate to go with your new and improved amp.hope that helps you-

I need to send my CE1000 crown amp in for repair.  Where can I send it?

Typing "amp repair" in google should get you a fairly comprehensive list.

I fixed a couple of my amps recently which had blown transistors. These were pretty obvious to spot (look for scorch marks on the PCB) and only a couple of £s to replace - significantly cheaper than a professional repair job, it just depends weather you have the courage to do it yourself!

Amp gets power but doesnt send anything through speaker wire

There are several things that could cause this that i know of, bad ground not being one of them.
A bad ground terminal should cause a noticeable distortion in sound and cause the amplifier to turn on and off.
If you are getting power and no sound, the first and easiest thing i would check is your RCA wires. Replace them with known good wires.
If that does not work, are you positive the speakers you have hooked up to your amplifier are not blown?
If available, use a DVOM to check resistances on the coils on your speakers. An open lead reading indicates a blown voice coil.
Also make sure that your speakers are each hooked up to a positive and negative terminal, as some amplifiers have two positives next to each other and two negatives, while others go + - + -.
Your amplifier could also have bad input or outputs, but i would try these other easy fixes before resorting to buying a replacement amplifier.
The only other cause to my knowledge would be bad RCA outputs on your head unit.
If possible try with a head unit you know the outputs work on.

Hopefully one of these suggestions solves your problem.

My amp

Check your speakers with an ohm meter. They should have some resistance but not totally shorted. Its prob the amp that got fried. Connect the amp to the battery with no speakers attached to it if the protection light still comes on then the amp is blown.

If the amp is blown you can send it to people on ebay and get it fixed pretty cheap. Good luck!

My amp went into protect

See my solution for:,p424435/Eclipse-Car-Amplifiers.aspx And they shouldn't need a schematic unless they can't read the part numbers of the fried components.
