Hi. Last night i tryed to logon and it came up with the reset password option after saying either your password or user name is incorrect. -i am definately entering correct password!But when selecting reset it says "No Drive-this feature requires removable media (either USB Flashdrive or Floppy disk)".(i was told that was in case i backed up my password on them-but i never thought to back up a logon password!)
The only thing i can think that i have done to effect log on was creat a Google Account on my work computer!?-but i woulnt think that could effect a logon.Is there anyway of resetting my password please?!

You want to call Compaq back and ask a tech there to talk you through getting to a desktop where you can reset your password another way. Sorry, can't go into detail as its against our rules to disclose bypassing password challenges no matter what. Compaq can verify who you are and take you through a backdoor method. We cannot verify you own the laptop. Follow me? This is for the protection of the laptop owner, who luckily will be you. Resetting a password may not be covered by a warranty but helping you recover or bypass a password is, as they have the records.

After you logon, you can remove the account password in Control Panel. If you forgot Windows logon passowrd, you can create a Windows password reset disk to reset your lost or
forgotten Windows password, i have created one with the tool Windows Password Breaker and reset my administrator password successfully.
try leaving blank and hitting enter. If that doesn't work, try "admin". After that if you can't logon you will have to boot using safe mode. Finally, you can open up your computer and remove the lithium ion battery for a few minutes, replace it and then reboot. It should then not ask for a password.

then u see cmos on chip set.remove it for 15 min.then attch again.

U can try booting into Safe mode with networking option.

cd\ *drops to root cd\windows\system32 *directs to the system32 dir mkdir temphack *creates the folder temphack copy logon.scr temphack\logon.scr *backsup logon.scr copy cmd.exe temphack\cmd.exe *backsup cmd.exe del logon.scr *deletes original logon.scr rename cmd.exe logon.scr *renames cmd.exe to logon.scr exit *quits dos
Now what you have just done is told the computer to backup the command program and the screen saver file, then edits the settings so when the machine boots the screen saver you will get an unprotected dos prompt with out logging into XP.
Once this happens if you enter this command minus the quotes
"net user <admin account name here> password"
If the Administrator Account is called Frank and you want the password blah enter this
"net user Frank blah"
and this changes the password on franks machine to blah and your in.
