3 prongs, are as follows live wire-- nuetral--- live wire.. the middle terminal is always the nuetral line.. so normal color codes are red(live)-white(nuetral)- black(live), or black(live)--whiite(nuetral)-red(live). so long as you nuetral hooks to center post either live wire can go to either side

Jeep grand cherokee 1996 changed out sensor but now it reading max on 80 psi. Why

Your old one had one wire connector and one prong, the new one you put in has two prongs on the switch and the connector so what did you do with the extra wire on the new plug? You put the new two prong switch with the old one wire connector.

this may be an update or wrong part, why dont you go to an autoparts store and get the switch, tell them you have a gauge.
let me check this out , just give me a minute ...............

Okay, i checked this out and there are two different switches
the two prong is for the gauge and the one prong is for the light.

I know you have a gauge, return the switch and sensor they are wrong that system only has one wire, the problem is that this jeep a 1996 has a 1995 engine in it, that happens all the time when they are making any type of car or truck, go to the auto parts store and tell them you have a 1995 jeep grand cherokee with a 4.0 engine and you need an oil pressure switch and you have a gauge, they should hand you a single prong switch. put it in and let me know what happens. good day.

I disconnected the capacitor on my Westinghouse HVAC unit. I took pics to help me put the replacement on and my pics don't show exactly which prongs the wires hook to. I know the blue wire goes on...

You are talking about a three post capacitor. One post may have 2 or 3 prongs, but it is still the same post and it doesn't matter which prong you put it on as long as your are on the right post. I am going to try and send you a video of a three post capacitor hoping it will help you. One post is for the "fan" whiich, by what you are telling me is the blue wire. "fan" will be marked right on the top of the capacitor next to the post. Sounds like the Red is "herm" which is a compressor wire. Orange and Yellow are the "C" wires. One wire will go to the fan and one will go to the compressor.
Again,, It doesn't matter which spade or "prong" you are putting it on as long as you are on the herm, c or fan post. hope this helps.

I have a 4 prong dryer but the plug in the wall is a three prong, ibought a four prong plug and i dont know how to connect a three wire into a four prong plug please help me.. hugo

Do NOT try and change the receptacle please. It is dangerous and we do not want anyone getting hurt. In your case, it would be better to put a 3 prong cord on the dryer. Overall you could call an electrician to install the 4 prong receptacle, which will require new 4 conductor wire as well and run to the breaker box. Get a flat style 3 prong dryer cord and we'll tell you how to install it. Unless you call an electrician. ;-) If this helps you, please rate my answer. Thank you.

Can you tell me how to hookup the three wires of 3 prong cord to the back of dryer that came with 4 wires(4 prong)? Which one goes where? I only have 3 prong plugs at my house. Thank you.

The following link explains how to connect a power cord to your appliance:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r793520-3_prong_4_prong_power_cord_conversion

Now keep in mind, some newer appliances REQUIRE a 4-prong plug in order to work properly. You may consider having a four-prong outlet installed to accomodate your dryer.

You can try these steps by referring to to section that discusses converting from a 4-prong to a 3-prong power cord.

If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

there should be instructions on the cord that you purchased. if not here it is, on your dryer, the 3 prongs are L1-N-L2.. and the green is a ground L1 line 1, L2 line 2, and N nuetral. L1 and L2 dont make a diff. as long as the whie(nuetral) is in middle terminal and the green screws to hte ground screw
