Maytag MDB7100AWB - Won't turn off or wash

About 6 months ago our Maytag (model MDB7100AWB) did not seem to turn off after its cycle is done. Initially blinking lights on the panel (cannot remember which ones) go off until you open the door. We then had to manually drain it through the drain cycle.

Now, it seems to fill, but does not go beyond that. Upon drain, it drains and sounds like the water is spraying. After timer counts down, it still hums.

We have been washing dishes by hand for 6 months now...please help!

probably the drain pump, access is underneath and to the right of pump housing, the drain hose connects to main housing and the drain motor is right and just behind where hose connects. open door part way for easier access. and use shop vac to remove as much water as possible, then have 2 or 3 bath towels to clean up if you try on your own. local parts house will have drain pump if you take model # with you

Maytag MDB7100AWB dishwasher. 'High Current' during wash cycle. What do I need to do? Thanks

What problem is the "high current' you mention causing?

Many dishwashers continue to heat the water to a higher temperature to wash and rinse the dishes with. They turn the heat strip on to do this, which causes the dishwasher to pull more current.

Dishwasher doesnt drain on wash cycle,ok on rinse cycle

Change the circuit board, timer/progrsmer.
Take it out and clean contacts,
Look for burnt circuit line and solder a fine bead carefully on the circuit board, difficult. Use the pot and pan program.

Maytag MDB7130AWB dishwasher blows circit breaker.

These have been known to leak water into the door panel. If so the water can cause a short. Your breaker is keeping the machine from lighting up. Check any seals that may have been braeched in the door. Start at the dispencer latch
rubber.

Stops mid-cycle

Hi SaviorSound,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumbr.

Your question is: You have a MDB7100AWB that has been working fine for the last 7 years. Now all of the sudden it will not complete a wash cycle in any mode (including auto clean). It consistantly stops at 85 on normal wash & at 65 on light wash and then clicks/buzzes about every 3 seconds, like it wants to continue - but never does. Any clues as to what to try? Is 7 years all I can expect to get?

Perhaps. Your d/w is stoping at the point where it should be turning on the 'heat dry' phase. This can be expensive. At this point I would be compairing the cost effectivness of repair verses replacement. Wish I had better news for you.
