Question about CyberPower Office Power 585AVR (obcps585avr_1) UPS System

1 Answer

585avr isn't working w/vista OS,

I'm using a radio shack serial to usb converter. There are a lot of issues w/drivers but I believe I've located and installed the latest, which is supposed to work w/vista (got it from floridaprobe.com). The RS device apprears to be working ok according to the device manager. But the ups does not register any connection via the serial port. Any ideas??

thanks in advance

Holy ****! Don't ever click on "More Options" after typing a long response. When I came back it was all gone.

Anyway, the connection problem is now solved--see below (was a conflict w/com4 usage). I am now trying to get some sort of s/w to control the shutdown process. The PowerChute product does not recognize this particular model at installation (and the installation just quits at that point). Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks for your promptness and comprehensive response.

While the 585AVR is not designed for Vista, it should work. You will need to use the CyberPower serial to USB cable, and the most recent version of PowerPanel Personal Edition software. You can download the latest software @ http://www.cyberpowersystems.com/software/PPPE_V_1.2.2_Setup.exe
If you have any questions, or need the CyberPower serial to USB cable, please contact CyberPower Systems Technical Support at 877-297-6937, M-F, 8-5 Central.

Computer does not recognize the cd rom drives on this computer

Hello my name is Tim, It sounds like you may need to reinstall the drivers and get your pc to locate the drives, you can usually get these drivers from the manfacturers website or from download.com for free, if you have the install disks for the dvd burner and cd rom you can use another pc to load them onto a usb drive and then transfer them to your pc that way. You can also go to controll panel, then device manager, and try to locate it there to see if it needs any drivers. I hope this heled you, please feel free to ask more questions and I will try to help.

Transcent JFV30 Pendrive Driver

Hi,

There are no drivers required to detect and access a flashdrive or even a Transcend PenDrive JFV30 under Windows XP or Vista. They are however needed for other Operating System such as Windows 98. Should this be the case, the drivers may be found here. If under XP or Vista, the pendrive could not be accessed/detected, then it is not the pendrive's drivers (or lack thereof) that should be the concern, it is the USB interface/drivers of the PC. Vista has been known to have major issues with USB and has issued a patch/upgrade/update here. XP SP1 has its own issues and the Microsoft patch/upgrade/update is here.

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

good luck and kind regards.

Depending on your OS & UPS you maynot need a driver.

If the UPS has a USB connector just try plugging it in. Windows 2003, XP & Vista support most common UPS by default. If it doesn't work goto the vendors website and see if they can download it.

Wireless adapter

Without more specific information (OS for example) I can only give you a general answer. As long as you have the drivers and port on your second computer you should be good to go.

The reason I ask about the OS is drivers for a single device are different. For example a driver written for XP will not necessarily work for Vista ( and Vista has many flavors). Or you may be using Linux, Apple OSX.xxx.

I have found precious little about your Blitzz adapter but will be glad to be more specific with more specific info...

Nexxtech product bought with no programing for windows vista

You will find many programs (and therefore hardware devices) that are NOT supported by Vista. Many drivers have not been written yet. You very well will not find any drivers that work with this device.
