Question about Lexmark Office Equipment & Supplies

I have a lexmark X1240 printer/scanner/copy and I'm trying to load it on my new gateway computer. It keeps giving me the error saying "this installation package is not support by this processor type. Please contact your vendor."

I have a lexmark x1240 and just installed a new cartridge. I keep getting an error message that says " print cartridge missing" install print cartridge even though both cartridges are in the printer.


If you insert the old cartridge, does it recognize it? If it does, then it's a problem with the new cartridge. Try to check if you already have taken out the protective tapes out of the cartridge.

If it still doesn't recognize the old cartridge, then it's a problem with the printer.

My lexmark x1240 all-in-one will not print. It saves XPS files and when I go to open them it will not open them. I have already installed the XPS reader. Also, when I try to scan, a box pops up saying...


A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.


You may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/lgJCxt. Select your operating system, download and execute the file.



Try to scan again to verify that the problem is fixed.

How to make a copy using a computer with lexmark x1240


Make sure the Lexmark software is installed on your computer. You can download the Lexmark X1240 printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/lgJCxt. Select your operating system, download and execute the file. Follow the instructions on your computer screen.

My lexmark 5300 all in one gives me a "web gateway encountered a problem..." message and the printer's functions will not work.


Does your printer print when you try to make a copy using the Copy button on the printer operator panel? If yes, then it could be a printer driver problem. Try to re-install the printer driver on your computer. You can download the Lexmark X5495 driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/gKXn7F. Select your operating system, download and execute the file. After the installation is successful, try to print again.

How to set a lexmark all in one x1240 to make copies without having to get on the computer


call Lexmark's toll free tech support # 1-800-539-6275. Have the printer's serial # ready.
They still give me free support on my 1020 and it's been out of warranty for years.

green button-START COLoUR COPY BUTTON.....place a documnet on scanner glass...press this button..u would get colur copies of the document

Black button-START BLACK COPY BUTTON.....place a documnet on scanner glass...press this button..u would get black copies of the document

white button on the left hand side-paper feed button..to load paper into the paper feed tray

white button the right...not sure:)....i guess it should be the scan button....

I have a reacuruing problem I have the lexmark x1240


Go to your control Panel and double click on printers and open it. It should say "Lexmark 1200 series". Below this it should say "Ready". If it does'nt say Ready, rightclick the printer and click on Use online or offline. If you see "Lexmark 120 series copy 1, delete the copy and you should be ok. Also, make sure the lexmark is the dedicated printer.
