My printer had been printing color but then ran out of ink. I changed the color ink and now the printer will only print lines of color rather than the actual image. It prints blue, red, and yellow but doesn't mix colors and, again, only prints lines.

Hi Sue, first tell the exact printer model, because MF5750 is laser printer B&W, lbp5700 is also laser and doesnt have ink. Wich ink printer do you have like pixma 5300? pixma 4300? The 5750 doesnt exist in canon range of printers.
But, by your description you have print head problems or clodged inks or purge unit problems.
I fixed my ESP 3250 print problems by removing the cartridges and print head. Using a Q-tip and warm water, added drops of water to each of the print head ink wells until the water / ink from the wells bled thru onto a cleanex. Did this several times. Dryed the print head fairly well. Then added a drop of water to each cartridge for each color. Reasembled and ran an alignment and to my surprise, it works! I hadn't used my printer in a while, so the ink had dryed on the felt for both the print head and cartridges.......
The printer is very good.I ve been using it for approx 1 year now.The printer works on a combination of both black as well as colour ink cartridges. If any of the cartridge is empty, printer will not print.Kindly call Kodak with your problems at 1800 421 6699 and they will take care of the issue for you.
I have an Epson stylus 6000 series, second hand but was working just fine. I changed the ink cartridges and now the color won't print. Utilities shows all cartridges full, but only black and pale green-blue print. While it was printing color it was drinking the ink, but that's another story.
Chances are that your print driver is set to print in black and white
while the copier side is automatically detecting that your original is
in color. To have the printer print in color: Select file print, select your printer and hit preferences. Select the Paper/Quality tab and switch from Black and White to Color.
I had removed and reinstalled the empty 3e cartridge. Sorry for the Confusion. I hadn't put a new 3e cartrige in until today. Them I ran " deep clean" twice. The printer works fine. I still don't understand why the printer wouldn't print color, when I was had set the printer to print in color when my 3e cartridge was empty and all colors including the 6 black showed full.
I had the same problem. Had no choice but to buy the colors I ran out to make the printer work. In order to avoid future problems and save on color inked I attempted to follow the steps of a previous posting, however, that did not work for me. This is what I had did. Print, select properties, advance, continue, check box - Black ink only. Remember when you decide to print in color you must reset your setting and take out the check from the - Black ink only.
