Question about Apple iPod nano 3rd Generation

1 Answer

I dropped it, and now it won't turn on!

I've had my Ipod Nano for maybe 3 months, and I recently dropped it on the floor. I tried to turn it on, but it won't turn on. I tried to plug it into my computer and charge it, but still it won't turn on. Tried flipping the hold button and tried pushing the MENU button for 10 seconds in order to reset it, but it still won't turn on. Please help. Thank you.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

It looks like your Ipod is damaged beyond repair.
If it could be repaired it maybe too expensive. I suggest you put your money towards a new Ipod.

How can I delete old podcasts from my Nano?

You will need to plug you nano into your computer and open iTunes. Once iTunes has recognized your iPod, click on the iPods name. There should be a page with a picture of your iPod, at the top of that page there will be a tab labeled "Podcasts," click on it. On that page there will be a check box with a drop-down menu, this is where we will change your podcast settings. The drop-down menu controls which podcasts are synced to you iPod:
All - This will sync all of your podcasts whether played or unplayed 1,3,5,10 most recent - this syncs only the (x) most recently added podcasts to your iPod All unplayed - if you have not played the podcast yet iTunes will sync them to your iPod 1,3,5,10 most recent unplayed - syncs the (x) most recently added unplayed podcasts to your iPod 1,3,5,10 least recent unplayed - syncs the (x) oldest unplayed podcasts to your iPod all new - syncs all of the newest podcasts 1,3,5,10 most recent new - syncs the (x) most recent new podcasts 1,3,5,10 least recent new - syncs the (x) least recent new podcast
those last two are a bit confusing, basically if you add a lot of podcasts you can either get the (x) newest of that set or the (x) least newest (hope that makes sense).
The second drop-down menu controls whether those setting apply to every podcast, or only the ones that you select in the menu underneath that.jsimpsonjr_0.png

Turn repeat off in the menu.
Setting iPod nano to Repeat Songs
You can set iPod nano to repeat a song over and over, or to repeat a sequence of
songs. iPod nano repeats songs within the list you choose to play.
To set iPod nano to repeat songs:
m Choose Settings from the iPod nano main menu.
â To repeat all songs in the list, set Repeat to All.
â To repeat one song over and over, set Repeat to One.
To turn repat off, go to Repeat off.

If your iPod nano won’t turn on or respond
1) Make sure the Hold switch is off.

2) If that doesn’t work, connect iPod nano to your computer’s USB or FireWire port. Your
iPod nano battery might need to be recharged.

3) If that doesn’t work, your iPod nano might need to be reset.

a) Toggle the Hold switch on and off (set it to Hold, and then turn it off again).
b)Press and hold the Center and Menu buttons for at least 6 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

4) If that doesn’t work, you might need to restore iPod nano software.

Ipod nano 2gb

reset it by holding down the hold button and holding down the menu and center button for 5 seconds as is indicated in the quick start manual. also holding Menu+select could do the trick. have you dropped your iPod or hit it pretty hard? This happened to a friend of mine when he threw his backpack on the floor. His iPod was inside the backpack and the jolt of hitting the floor physically damaged the iPod's hard drive. Unfortunately, if your hard drive is damaged, there's only one way to fix it - get it replaced. If your iPod is still under warranty or you purchased extended AppleCare for your iPod, then have Apple replace or repair your iPod. If your iPod is out of warranty, there are several third-party companies that can fix your iPod like iPodMods. Good luck
