Question about Computer Speakers

USB speakers will not work with Linux OS

Ok. Here goes. I have purchased a set of Logitech V20 USB speakers. I run an Asus Eeepc 1000 Linux. The speakers have a compatability issue with the Linux OS as far as I can make out and although receiving power via the USB will not play sound.

How can I resolve?

I have the same problem with my Dell-branded USB speakers. I assume that the USB must be used for more than power, but I cannot guess what.

Speakers used to work fine and now don't. Sometimes you get just a bit of sound and then it stops. The regular sound on computer works and I've checked all volume settings.

This looks like a loose contact, probably in the speakers connector. Try gently wiggling the wire as if to "push" it into the connector. If this restores the sound, temporarily of course, you'll need to purchase a similar audio jack, cut off the old one, strip its wires and solder them into the new jack - three minutes' work if you're familiar with a hobbyist soldering iron.

Center/subwoofer speaker out...mixed

Hi all, I also purchased a logitech x-540 a few days ago and also have the center speaker outputting sound when i test or play the subwoofer. I didn't think this is normal and am now confused. Maybe its a problem with the audio drivers? MB is a ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 with Soundmax drivers. Hopefully someone can help to diagnose/ find a soluytion.

No sound from logitech speakers, they worked 2 songs and then stop working i ve got control whit buttons on top of speaker but no sound please help

FOR MACS... Last February(08) I bought the V20 Logitech speakers for my Apple iBook laptop. I got them to work. Hadn't used them for about a year and had forgotten how to get the sound to emerge. I went to System Preferences. Clicked on Sound. I had plugged in the USB. Didn't show up. Unplugged it and plugged in again and there it was! I clicked on it and the sound came through immediately. So wait to plug in the speakers until you have opened Sound. (And Pandora (superb Internet radio station) is playing flawlessly.) I am not familiar with PCs. Sorry.
