I'm afraid there isn't much hope of recovery of the data that was located on the cd where the silver flaked off. That reflective later, and underlying dye is actually where the data is stored. The plastic (polycarbonate) part of the cd holds no information.

Cannot open picture, get an error message, An error is preventing the photo from being displayed. using vista

Depending on what format you took the pictures in you may need to load the image editing software that camecame with the camera in order to view your photos and convert them to jpeg so your computer recognizes them. Check the settings on your camera and make sure it is set to jpeg not raw.

Will my DVD 300 play photos recorded on a CD-R disc?

Yes it should, as it supports JPEG file playback.
Create a folder on your desktop, drag and drop the photos you want onto it and then burn the folder onto a CD-R.
Alternatively, most Photo software allows you to create a CD from your photo collection.
Photos must be in the JPEG format (pretty much the default and most common file format used for photos).

Our cd changer will not open or play and I need the CDs out. Please advise

You need to open your player cover to get your disc ( Please unplug the power prior to do this). The main problem is on your mechanism system that prevent you open / close the disc tray. So please check the motor of your mechanism and its gears for malfunction, then get them fixed before retry your player. Regards

Can't get my photo cd's to play on my blu-ray

It seems that the image format is not supported by the Player. The Player supports only JPEG files.
If the images are already in JPEG format, it seems that the issue is with the disc. You may copy the images to the Computer burn them to a new CD or DVD to check if that helps.

If the images are not in JPEG format, then you may convert the images to supported format using any convertion Software.

If the issue persists, then you may reset the Player by pressing STOP and POWER button at the same time when the Player is ON.
This should resolve the issue.

Nedd to format photo images to a cd from jpeg to tif to1920 pixel

Best solution would be to use Photoshop to resize and change to .tif
You may also want to change from RGB to CMYK since tif files used for printing at commercial print shops need to be cmyk.

How to install pictures

You need a USB (mini) cable. Plug your PSP into a computer with the cable and it appears as a disk drive. Just drag (formatted JPEG, TIFF, PNG, GIF, BMP) pictures into the "PHOTO" folder. You really should edit the photos to the proper size (480 x 272 pixel) on your computer to prevent stetching or banding.

Alternately if you have a card reader you could remove the memory card from the PSP (left hand side) and use a card reader hooked to the computer.

My PS2 Slim plays music, black and blue discs, but doesn't play silver discs nor DVDs.

Is this a new problem or has your PS2 always had this issue? You cannot adjust the laser at all and are likely to damage it if you try, you can however clean the laser lens with a CD/DVD cleaning disk and you'd be surprised how often this resolves disk read issues. Some of these units did have a production fault that prevented them from reading DVD's, if your PS2 has had this fault since new and/or is under 12 months old you could probably have had it repaired/replaced by Sony but by opening it you will have invalidated you're warranty.
