What is the pressure setting on the air pump? The air pump delivers the fuel. the correct pump pressure deluvers the correct ampunt of fuel. Wrong amount of fuel/air ratio produces a stink!

I did some research on FixYa.com solutions page--

Check these places out, and try the air pressure adjustment--

ReddyHeater - Troubleshooting Torpedo Heaters If you brought the heater to our shop, and gave the abovedescription, the first thing that we would do is check the air pump pressure.

Then, if the pressure is correct (not just close) we would check the photocellfor signs of insect nest or something similar blocking the view of the eye.

You must troubleshoot to find out if the problem is fuel related or electronicsrelated- maybe these tips will help (click for link).http://www.reddyparts.com/HSI_tips.htm

My monitor 41 smells like kerosene when it sits idle, repair man came out and told me he fixed it, but it still smells

Does it smell like raw kerosene or exhaust. If it smells like kerosene it sounds like you may have a fuel leak. If you can remove the grill, look inside and check for any kerosene in the bottom and in the tray under the heater. You should also check your fuel line for leaks. If it smells like exhaust look inside and on back of the heater for any black soot marks. There are a couple of o-rings, 1 in the exhaust connection in back of the heater and 1 in the flue pipe where the exhaust from the heater connects. There's also several gaskets in the combustion chamber that could be leaking. Hope this helps. If you need any more info, you can send me an email (nitensheaterservice@embarqmail.com).

Kerosene works **** diesel seems to not work in my multifuel reddyheater. Why?

diesel is heavier and may not spray through the nozzle. Try diluting it with 25% kerosene and it should thin it out enough to burn

Reddyheat rlp 100 will not stay lit, strong gas smell.

I had the same problem with my Reddy Heater PRO 100. It is the 20Lb bottle causing your problem.
I Put a 100LB bottle on and ended my problems.
