It is the door lock that may be broken, that's what happened with my maching last summer. The lock is made of plastic if you can imagine. So if you slam the door it can break. A washing machine gets wear and tear how can closing a door be owners fault?

This is a crappy machine in terms of maintenance, it is a maintenance nightmaire!!

Washer states sensing with a buzz sound?

Hello keisha, thank you for your post!

I understand that your Frigidaire washer is making a buzzing sound until the cancel or start button has been pushed. It sounds like it could be a possible issue within the door either not being fully closed or it could be a defective switch. I would recommend resetting your appliance which can be done by disconnecting power to the appliance for roughly ten minutes. Please comment back if that did not help correct the issue. -Matt

My front load affinity will not start, says pause

Hello friend, thank you for your post!

I see that your Frigidaire washer, FAFW3517KW, is constantly showing you pause, when you press start it flashes the pause again, and that the door lock light does not come on. You could be seeing a couple of different possible reasons this is happening such as your control panel, door lock assembly, or door switch. Since it could be any of the underlying issues I would recommend having a professional come out to the home and repair the washer. -Matt

Keeps pausing

Hello Friend, this is Z. Thank you for your post!

If you are receiving an error code PAUSE, it commonly indicates that the door of your washer is not securely latched or the cycle has been interrupted. Try pressing "PAUSE/CANCEL" or "START/PAUSE" once to resume cycle. If these basic troubleshooting tips prove ineffective, try reprogramming your appliance by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is best to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on your washer. If the issue persists, then your washer could possibly have a faulty door latch or experiencing a communication error with the control board. I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose your washer to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.

MY FRIDGIDAIRE AFFINITY KEEPS PAUSING DURING CYLES DOSENT MATTER WHAT CYCLE I CHOOSE. IT STOPS ATLEAST 5 TIMES PER CYCLE AND SOMETIME WONT FINISH THE CYCLE. MODEL NUMBER FAFW3801LW3

Hi Brooke, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

Often this happens because the washer door is not securely latch or the cycle has been interrupted. Try pressing "PAUSE/CANCEL" or "START/PAUSE" once to resume cycle. If the issue persists, try reprogramming the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and then turn the unit back on. If issue persists, then more than likely the unit has a faulty door latch, a communication error with the control board, or a potential wiring failure. You may wish to reach out to an appliance expert who is best equipped to pinpoint the exact problem, which can often save you funds and a headache.

Best regards!

My Frigidaire Affinity is brand new. Just did our first load of laundry and mid cycle it stopped and the PAU is lighting up intermittent with the time left. I have tried everything I can think of and it...

Hello Mary Fortner - It means that the washer has been paused; the cycle has been interrupted. Either the "Pause/Cancel" button or "Start/Pause" button has been pressed. To resume wash - press "Pause/Cancel" or "Start/Pause" once. If this does not prove to be successful please turn the breaker to the unit off for 5 minutes. Then turn the breaker back on to the unit, and retry the cycle setting again.

New frigidaire washer (affinity)

Kimberely, The err 47 means that the control board is not sensing the door lock. First try unplugging the machine for 1 minute and see if it comes back to normal. If it doesn't put it into the door lock test, with the door closed, by doing the following: Turn the program knob to drain spin. Press pause cancel to turn off the LEDs. Within 5 seconds, press and hold the option and pause cancel buttons until the LEDs start sequentially chasing, then release the buttons. All the LEDs will sequentially light. Turn the program knob 4 clicks from the start position clockwise, the door lock solenoid will activate. The door should be locked. Turn the knob one more click clockwise and it should unlock. You can toggle back and forth to test it. If the door lock is working and you are still getting this code, then its a control board problem. You should call for factory service. If you have any more questions, you can email me at catriver1@gmail.com Catriver...post back.
