CD's won't play on AIWA Compact Disc Stereo System
1 to 3 CD's can be loaded. It will pick CD1 up, spin it, show track 1 on screen, stop, put back and go to CD2. Same thing happens for CD2 and CD3 when they get picked up. Then it stops after CD3 gets put back. The programmed track #'s use to light up on the lower right corner of screen, but they don't now. I think a or several buttons may have been pushed either on the stereo itself, or on the remote. I havae unplugged it and plugged it back in, but that hasn't helped. Everything else works ok on it. Would like to have help in solving this matter ASAP, Thank you.

Run a "Laser Lens Cleaner" thru the unit a couple times. Use one that takes fluid, you can find them at just about any retail store for 15-20. If that doesn't solve it, it needs to be repaired. At that point weigh the cost over replacement. A new transport usually will cost 100-150 on average for parts and labor. Hope this helps
With the power turned off, open the DVD Player, and then open the top where you load the DVD into the player. Locate the laser lens and notice that the laser is attached to a transport assembly that moves the laser diagonally outward in a slot. 1. Slide this assembly outward to the end of its track. 2. Slide the assembly back inward to the closest inward position. 3. Repeat the process of sliding the assembly outward and then back inward.4. Put in a music CD and let it play all the way through. This helps to calibrate the laser head assembly movement. When the music CD is finished playing. 5. Put in a DVD, and you should have a working unit again This is a factory solution from Mintek that was given to a customer who ask for help with the forever loading disc problems. This solution may work on other models of portable DVD players. Most portable DVD players use this type of transport mechanism. Try this solution it might work for you. I hope this information helps you with your problem.
Try this CD realignment process built into the Sharp XL HP505: Have unit off.
Hol down the square (stop) button and the X-BASS button while pressing the ON button. This starts the CD TEST. press play, the memory, then memory, memory, memory, adjustment lights will come on the screen. FOF, TOF, TBAL, TGAN, FGAN, RFLS. press cd1 - track 4, press cd2 - track 9, press cd3 - track 15. Press square (Stop).
If all the cd trays are full, then will light up . This worked for me.
