PLEASE WAIT.... not responding to reboot

The Please Wait..... signal is not responding to phone / diagnostics / reboot.

    Attempts to register, but ends up failing after 5 or so minutes. There is is signal coming from the base station.

Try registering the base station to the console. Press Menu, then admin setup, then registration and follow the prompts.

MITEL 5303 Conference Phone question: during connection of a few numbers and 1 number is busy - how do you drop that call without dropping all parties connected?


I believe that if you reach a busy signal, you can hang up. The conference should ring you back and the rest of the conference will be there.



Here's what the documentation shows from within the help of a 3300 ICP/MCD...



a 5303 is to be treated just like a 2500 series set...

2500, 5302 IP Phone, SUPERSET 401, SUPERSET 401+, and SUPERSET 4001 telephones:

To form a Conference when a two-party call is already in place, or to add another party to an existing Conference:

  1. Press Flash or flash the switchhook.

  2. Dial the number of the next party.

  3. Wait for an answer.

  4. Press Flash or Flash the switchhook.

  5. Dial the Conference Call Feature Access Code.

To Leave a Conference:

  • Hang up.


2500 telephone:

To split a Conference and speak privately with the original party:

  1. Flash the switchhook.

  2. Dial the Conference Call Split Feature Access code.

Have a Polycom Soundstation 2W that is stuck with "please wait" on display.


Hi Tina,
You should be able to enter the menu of the phone to re-register it to the basestation. If you are having difficulty getting it to register, I'd recommend using a Mini USB cable to update the software of the phone. If you are still having problems, give support a call: 800 765-9266 (8:00am to 9:00pm EDT, Monday to Friday)

"Please wait" (rebooted, then) "searcing for signal"


Sounds like the base station and console are no longer registered to each other. Press the menu key, then admin setup then registration. Follow the prompts to register the base with the console.

Just had this problem with the 'please wait' - go into the admin setup and select Reboot Phone - it then works!

I thought well I wonder what holding down other buttons would do to get rid of this cursed PLEASE WAIT issue.
I tried * and # together and hey presto it worked.
I did however have to go in and turn IP mode off.

Display shows "Not Registered"


1. Remove battery from phone, and unplug from charging cable
2. Unplug Phone base
3. Hold Page button on base and plug it back in. While holding page button wait for in use light to go solid. Once solid unplug base.
4. Hold clear button on the phone pod and plug in charging cable until you see ----- on the screen.
5. Press 0
6. Unplug power from phone pod
7. Hold clear button on the phone pod and plug in charging cable until you see ----- on the screen.
8. Hold the page button on the base and plug it in, Hold page button until the in use light blinks. Let go of page button.
9. Press 9 on your phone. If it says Reg o it is finished. If it says Reg fail try again if it fails twice please call Tech support.
10. Replace Battery
11. Make a test call
