i went inside my 42 in jvc and it has a panel of adjustment screws for the red, green, and blue alignments. i turned one and the problem began. i ended up messing with all of them and now i cant get none of them to line up at the same time. i get close but there is always an off spot somewhere. need help or advice.

havent installed convergence, dont know what that is of course. but i am unable to align colors on my screen as well. i can focus the red, blue and green on a certain area of the tv, but areas around it are horriblly off.

another issue: say i have a freeze frame box on the screen. 2/3rds of the outer red lines of the box drift quickly to the right (kinda like goes straigt down, pause, goes to the right, pause then goes straight down to the end of the box. both L and R side of box are equal on both sides (kinda like a mirror of each, and they change in relation to the outer sides when i change the wide modes on the tv. i think it is some kind of input problem maybe since this line changes with the different aspect ratios, but i can still not focus the colors on the tv. can anyone help

The TV was working en shut him self off. Wont start now .

This may be caused by convergence IC's being defective and some resistors around them not being the proper values.

I have repaired another Hitachi model Rear Projection TV that would start up and click click click and flashing red light, then replaced the convergence IC's STK392 series and a few burned up resistors and good as new :)

You will have to be handy with a soldering iron to complete this task, and there is a kit you can buy also http://www.tvrepairkits.com/xcart/60sbx78b/ it comes with everything you need and even teach you how to solder if your not already good at it.

Hope that helps

Tv turns off red light flashes and i hear a chriping sound

This problems is also parts of tv convergence board have dead 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all the resistors dead too. This problems the 2 STK and some or all it resistors are completely dead that why u only have red flashing light and chirping sound only.If your tv have any life function left of the tv convergence board u would have only mis alignments of colors R,G,B lines, have colors shadows or 3D pictures look alike. The shop, will cost like $300-350 to get the tv convergence board fixed also fixed this problems too.

Green projection light not alligning with red and blue. Flash focus will not bring them back. Sony Rear Projection KP-48S70

This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually charge between $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!
See link for more detail
http://www.ehow.com/how_4575598_yourself-projection-tv-repair-convergence.html
Note:The convergence/defletion/power board (the one the IC's are on) of this model is on the left hand side (when facing the back of set) also check for blown pico fuses when replacing the convergence IC's The best way to replace the IC's resistors and possibly fuses is to remove the entire board.

My tv does not come on and the red light inthe front flashes 3 ti

The 3 blink error code is indicating that the Convergence ICs have failed. You can get the repair kit for your model which contains both convergence IC and the six feed resistors and it also has step by step instructions with pictures that show how to do the repair. Heres a link to the repair kit for your model.

IC's and PICOs replaced but Red Convergence is still off

There is always bias resistors very close by the ic's. You must check all of them. There value will be right on the money, if not you must replace them. You'll see them, they will all be in a row.
Let me know if I can be any further help!

Panasonic Flashing codes:

2: ----------------- Low DC
3: ----------------- Convergence

5: ----------------- IC 4011
6: ----------------- IC 4018
3 is convergence, either one of the two convergence ICs faulty, or something else (capacitor etc.) has blown on convergence board.

Red and white allignment

you need new convergence Ics. This is a easy repair. let me know your model number of your TV and I will post the Convergence ICs numbers and also post a link where you can get new Ics that come with free installation instructions with pictures and free on line tech support.

Red color allignment

The convergence Ics need replaced. In Toshiba, resistors and sometimes a coil needs replaced as well. The convergence/deflection PCB is available, but, the cost of that board is higher than having a servicer come to your home and repair the unit to component level. If you are not familar with this circuit, then call a servicer. Have them replace both ICs not just one. Make sure they are repairing to component level and not replacing the board. Hope this helps.
