Question about Canon PIXMA MP530 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I need more ink for my Canon Pixma MP530 printer, but don't understand the chip/no chip situation. Big $ difference! Will the no-chip cartridges work just as well?
The printer NEEDS ink cartridge WITH the chip
BUT, you can move the chip from the old to the new cartridge, you just lose the ability to monitor ink level....you have to visually check it from time to time
been doing it for months now... works fine, just keep a close eye on the ink when it starts to get low, can hose the printhead for that color if empty
printheads run around $55 or so - so actually, savings in ink will easily pay for a new printhead every now and then, if you screw up :)
