Question about RCA Lyra RD2012 256 MB MP3 Player
The manual says that you can put upto 3000 songs, I put in a 2gb card and uploaded 700 songs. I profiled them using just the player, and it only did about 200 songs, the rest show in the song lists, but they don't play. I profiled them using the pc program, it showed that it profiled all 700, but like the other, they all won't play. I have both a rd2011, and a 2012, both with the same problem. HELP!!!
SOURCE: SD card in MP3 player
Was the SD card in the MP3 player when you loaded the songs or did you load them some other way? You may have to first put the SD card in the MP3 player first, then load the songs onto the player.

SOURCE: memory card question
Be sure you have a fresh battery. At some point the battery doesn't have enough energy to run both the player and the card. You can pull the card out and play what is in the internal memory or just replace the battery. I am cheap so I play it without the card for until the battery dies the rest of the way.

I have had this...put a small pin or a needle through the hole in the back of the player marked "Reset" and it should work fine...if you are able to get it to connect to your computer you can use the update software available from RCA to upgrade to the latest firmware as well.

Found a small pinhole on the back of the device. In small lettering it says reset. Carefully insert a pin and light push when you feel it's hit a dead end. It resets the issue and you can resume using your device. Leave it up to a girl to find that and figure it out. lol

SOURCE: not working properly
The same thing happened to mine... The firmware is probably corrupted. Go to RCA's website (http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/select.aspx?u=downloads) and download the firmware update for the model that you have. You'll most likely have to choose the "reformat" option (which will erase all of your music) to get it to work, but you can try doing it without it first. When I did it, I had to totally reformat, though... Good luck!
