Remove the lint trap. There is a bolt in the center. Remove bolt. Remove screws from crossbar and you can then replace the belt. I removed sensor and lifted drum out makes it easier. Pay attention to how black belt is thread if removed

This link here shows the proper configuration of how the belt fits onto the motor/idler pulleys perhaps this will help you to keep the belt on by checking thats its properly on the motor&idler pulleys. Just find your brand and veiw the diagram.

The dryer made a clunk sound and the tumbler stop rotating

Sounds like you belt has either broke or came off. If you were rotating the drum by hand in the counter clockwise direction when it clunked, there is a pulley kit to fix that problem. If it was just running when it clunked the belt probably just broke. Hope that helps

Belt broke...need to know how to open the back

to fix the belt you open the FRONT. I just did this today! Unscrew the dryer vent. Then, with a screw driver, pop the front of the TOP. Then, there are 2 screws with bolt heads... one on each side. 8mm. take those off. pop the front off by lifting up on the whole front panel, as it rests on two brackets.

Belt broke cant find where to take apart to replace belt

Most dryers can be taken apart on the back. Take out the screws holding the rear plate on and you should see the motor and pulleys. It's always good to keep the back oof of the unit until you test it once. The belt could be getting broken or just slipping off due to overloading the unit. Over time, this can severly damage the rollers and put too much tension on the motor assembly. Hope this helps.

How to install a dryer belt?

Think I can help. Use a large screwdriver "flat head" and pry up the top of dryer. there is a clip on each side on front of dryer. the top should lift in front and stay connected in rear. Prop the top up with something so it doesnt fall. Then look inside twards front and you will see a screw near top on each side. Remove these and the two screws on bottom front close to floor. There is also a ground wire attached to the front with a clip. This can also be slid off with a screwdriver. On some models you have to remove the door. If so just remove the screws that secure the hinge. Now the front should be free. Lift up to remove it. Now you have access to the components. Look in twards motor and you will see a tentioner that keeps the belt tight. Its spring loaded. Push it away from belt and remove belt. Now its just a matter of taking out old belt. Install new belt in reverse of removal. Hope this helps and good luck.

Broken Kenmore 80 Series dryer

Sounds like you have a simple broken belt problem.  If you are sure the motor is working and the heating circuits are functioning, but the drum does not turn, the drum belt probably broke.  They are inexpensive to replace and are carried by almost any appliance repair store.
