Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I am trying to uninstall my Norton software and it will not allow me to. Is say that other programms depend on it, even though I have uninstalled everything I can find with the Norton or Syntec name on it. It is a real nuisance because several pop-up come with every file I open telling me that Norton has a licence problem. Please advise.

Cannot delete or remove awindow "Window - No Disk and message: exception Processing Message 75b6bf9c 4 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c

This problem seems to be caused either by malware (virus or spyware etc), or by software following a Windows update or some other software installation or uninstallation (particularly HP, Norton or QuickTime software) trying to check for removable media that isn't there (e.g. disc in DVD drive or card in card reader), when it shouldn't be doing that check.
Please try these steps:
scan your computer with a virus checker and anti-spyware etc, clean any infections and reboot if that doesn't work, try changing your drive letter assignments (you can refer it from Microsoft Help instructions), if that doesn't work, try uninstalling your floppy drive or just always keep media in all your drives, though the next two steps are preferable if they work, then try making your software stop looking for drives: e.g. uninstalling and reinstalling an upgraded (or latest possible) version of QuickTime; similarly with your Norton and HP software if you have any, and clearing your most recently used documents or files lists. best regards

Skillground error 357

i've tried (for several days now) to download the software, but everytime i click "download & play" nothing happens
(it looks like the 'page' just keeps refreshing it self for several minutes, ending in a "error code 357" message!

I contacted skillground numerous times , and thou they are helpful in their replies.. they keep saying that its my router and/or firewall that prevents the software from downloading.. BUT

even when i disable the router (running the internet cable direct from the "wall plug" into my pc) , and disableing my firewall (Norton) (i have even tried uninstalling the Norton).... its still the same problem

I've allowed cookies... set the internet security to minimum ..disabled the router and Norton firewall, ..removed the skillground 'program' and even tried to create another account ...but its still the same problem ... so i've ran out of idea's

but have you tried checking (in addition to your router, and norton firewalls) the built-in vista firewall?

Try these steps:

1. Uninstall it again using Control Panel -> Uninstall Programs. (BUT) Uninstall the LiveUpdate first, then the rest of the Symantec software.

2. Go to http://www.ccleaner.com/ and download the newest version.

First click on Cleaner.

This is the main feature of the program, which will allow you to optimize your system, by removing unused and temporary files. It also protects your personal privacy by removing traces of the websites you have visited and the files you have opened.
(It's important to point out that it does this without removing any files you'll still need!)

Select the button on the right, not the Analyze button, it'll look but not act on anything.

When done, then click on Registry.

This is a more advanced feature which analyses your computers registry (where windows system settings are stored) and fixes any problems and inconsistencies that exist.

Reboot even if you're not asked to - re-mount your install CD and you should be good to go.

Unable to remove all legacy symantec information in registry

When I see and hear the word symantic I know thats Norton. Norton is notorious for detecting virus that isn't there and refusing to let you uninstall it. What I did is down load a software called your uninstaller, I installed it, and even though your symantic is not listed in your control panel for uninstalling, this software is outstanding and will find it. it even goes into your system files and registry and finds any remnants of the program and completely destroys it. In your search window type in Uruninstall, I think thats the name. Or just plain your uninstall. Its been awhile but its wonderful. I never installed Norton again. Good Luck.

Your problem is Nortons, This Software is notorious for this, what it is saying is you have a virus in your document folder and will not allow it to open or run. Uninstall Norton and Install a different Anti-Virus and watch your problem disappear. Good Luck. That Norton's is so mean I bet you even have trouble Uninstalling it, It don't like that. Ha Ha.

Delete Norton. Its terrible and slows your machine down. Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/remove programs. And uninstall it.
Use AVG Antivirus instead, its free and much better.
