HI Ann:
With the engine off, check the tension on the serpentine belt. Also, try spraying some conditioneron the belt. Safety first!!! Watch your fingers and moving parts.
CHECK FOR VACUUM LEAKS. MOST OF THE TIME YOU WILL HEAR A WHISTLING NOISE OR A SUCKING SOUND. YOU CAN GET A CAN OF SPRAY CARB CLEANER AND SPRAY AROUND ENGINE,IF ENGINE CHANGES RPM'S THAT AREA IS OF CONCERN. POSSIBLE AIC VALVE STICKING OR SLOW TO RESPOND.
your car is happy so its whistleing no kidding one morning when you start it up see if you could tell where its comeing from could be a vacum leak but if it were that your car would be missing pretty bad could be a belt air being pulled thru air filter what year is the car
Sounds like a vacuum line/hose has become disconnected cracked or broke. When vehicle is on listen under hood for whistling or air suction sound. Also sounds like symptoms of Idle air control motor (IAC) not working properly.
