Question about LG WM-2277HW Front Load Washer

Water hose extender

Need to move to back wall of laundry room, need to extend hose. When it was delivered in 2007, we were told that it would have to have a "special" LG hose for this particular model. ? Can we just use a standard hose?

Depending on how far you need to extend the hose, you have to be careful not to extend it too far, or else it may not pump out properly or may even siphon the water out of you machine. I would suggest calling or going to your local appliance parts distibutor and asking them if there is a special hose for extending the drain hose. Make sure you take your model and serial number with you or have it handy if you call. You may be able to use a normal type of hose , but they ussually kink or collasps on the inside . Either way a quick check with the parts distibutor might save you alot of trouble.

Sewage backing up into laundry room when we use our dishwasher. We have a septic tank. Both toilets flush fine, and no back up in tub

The drain leaving the laundry room going to the main needs to be cleaned. The first thing you can try is what is called a product called Drain King . This is connected to a garden hose and inserted into a drain where the p-trap is removed from the wall When the garden hose is turned on full blast it will try pushing out the clog You should hear it pulsate first slowly then more quickly as the clog is washed away.he water flowing with Finally you should hear water flowing freely. it helps to use warm water if possible. If that won't work the drain will need to be snaked , Turn off the hose and remove the Drain King by loosening the hose connection Then follow that pipe downhill toward the main drain, and look for a clean-out plug. You can loosen the plug SLOWLY, have a bucket, mop, and rags ready and wear old clothes. Place the bucket under the clean-out plug if possible while slowly removing it Water will come out unless the clog is between the laundry sink and the clean-out. If water comes out when the clean-out plug is removed place your snake drain cleaning device into the clean-out and run until the clog is cleared. then run water through it for a while to wash away any residual residue. Put everything back together and test for leaks.

My washer is flashing LF

LF error code indicates that there is a water supply problem.

Are both the hot and cold water faucets turned on? Turn on the water. Check the household faucets to see if the hot and cold water faucets are turned on. Completely open both faucets for proper fill.

NOTE: Both hot and cold water must be connected to the washer and turned on. The washer will not properly operate with only one incoming source of water.

Are the water inlet hoses kinked? Straighten the water inlet hoses.

Are the water inlet valve screens on the washer clogged? Turn off the water and remove inlet hoses from the inlet valves in the back of the washer. Inside the inlet valves are screens. Remove any accumulated film or particles from the screens. Reinstall hoses, turn on water, and check for leaks. See the Installation Instructions for details.

Is the water pressure less than 10 psi? If the water pressure is too low, the washer may not properly operate. To find out your exact pounds-per-square-inch (psi) value, contact your local water utility company.

Is the drain hose extending more than 8" (20.3 cm) into the drainpipe? The drain hose may be too far inside the drainpipe (standpipe) or laundry tub. Drained water can siphon back into the washer if the drain hose extends too far. Make sure the drain hose does not extend more than 8" (20.3 cm) into the drainpipe or laundry tub. Using the U-shaped drain hose form as described in the Installation Instructions will provide the appropriate length of drain hose in the drainpipe or laundry tub.

Is the drain hose taped onto the drainpipe? Is the top of the drainpipe covered with tape?
Do not seal the drain hose into the drainpipe with tape. The drain hose should be loose, yet secure. There must be a gap between the drain hose and the drainpipe to allow air to flow. The air gap will break the suction. This will keep water from being continuously sucked out of the machine (siphoning) as it fills.

Is the drainpipe (standpipe) less than the minimum height of 39" (99 cm)?
Make sure the top of the drain is at least 39" (99 cm) high (as measured from the floor). If the drain is below 39" (99 cm), the water will start to flow out of the machine due to gravity. The flow of water can create suction, (siphon) and the water will continue to drain out of the washer.

To remove the error display, press Pause/Cancel once.

If Pause/Cancel does not work:
  1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute.
  2. Plug in the washer or reconnect the power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.
NOTE: If the error remains on the display, and all of the other questions above have been checked, call for service.

Hope this helps (remember to rate this answer).

I bought an Admiral washer Model No. ATW4475VQ. I bought it from Home Depot. The first washer was delivered, and when I did a load of laundry, water leaked from the bottom of the washer. I did not see any...

It's impossible to tell. from your description.

Usually a new washer is set up with new hoses. If the installers aren't complete idiots that should be good.

You can look at where the water lines come out of your wall and make sure it isn't wet there.

You could also test the water pressure at your house and make sure it isn't extremely high. Sometimes these new units can't take overly high water pressure.

Good Luck!

My water is draining out of my machine as it is filling, Why?

This is a condition known as syphoning. Your drain hose on the washer needs to go up before it connectes to the house drain. It needs to rise as high as the washing machine top then hook over the drain pipe. If the drain hose is pushed too far into the drain pipe this can also cause syphoning.

Here are some tips to help describe this better.

Is the drain hose extending more than 8" (20.3 cm) into the drainpipe?
The drain hose may be too far down inside the drainpipe (standpipe) or laundry tub. Drained water can siphon back into the washer if the drain hose extends too far. Make sure that the drain hose does not extend more than 8" (20.3 cm) into the drainpipe or laundry tub. Using the U-shape drain hose form (as described in the Installation Instructions), will provide the correct length of drain hose in the drainpipe or laundry tub.

Don't you think it would really boost sales if you did make a washer that the front loader door could open left to right . For homes that have very limited laundry room. and no way to switch.

Special water hose needed?

i dont know of of a"special hose". are we talking about water inlet (hot and cold) hoses??drain hose??? or a vent hose for dryer???
1. stainless steel non-bursting fill hoses are available in up to 6' lentgh's
2. drain hose can be extended if need be, i would make it as short of an extension as needed, and use a hose of atleast the existing diameter and make sure that it wont, bent or pinch off after putting into drain pipe
3. dryer venting should be a solid aluminum 4" pipe as shosrt as possible with least amount of elbows needed.
all available at a quaitly home improvemnet store/ hardware store
