Question about Canon BubbleJet i560 InkJet Printer

Open Question

Grayscale printing When grayscale printing is specified, the printer only prints random paragraphs/rows. To get the full print, the 'grayscale' box has to be unticked. I've downloaded the latest printer driver but without success.

SOURCE: Can I go to grayscale all the time?

Usually 'black' or greyscale uses all colours to get a true black in many printers. Check you particular printer manual and soft ware to see if it allows for black/grey only. You could experiment [I don't know this particular printer] by putting black carts in all slots [If it is a chipped cart you may have to consider swapping the chips on the carts if removable. Some specialist ink firms[Lycos] do supply monochrome sets for certain printers - check them out. Also take a look at

SOURCE: My printer is out of grayscale ink. It will not

bukes1 is actually right. I have the same printer and I'm having the same problem. The MP980 has a black, pixel black, cyan, magenta, yellow, and a grey cartridge, so 6 all together. The grey replacement cartridge is not readily available at a store. You have to purchase it online. I don't understand why Canon does not include it in the color multi-pack. It's quite a nuisance, because when the cartridge runs out you can't print at all.

SOURCE: While printing in grayscale mode it is using color cartridges

Open the printer "print options" or "Print Settings" and select the "Black ink only". I am not very sure about your model, but when you carefully check, you'll see "print in color" "Print in greyscale" it should be somewhere below the "print in greyscale". Hope this helps. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

How can I print in grayscale on my Canon PIXMA MG8120?

That printer has multiple ways to print grayscale. The best is directly from the print menu, when you tell it to print, one of the things in the pop up box on most apps, like Word or Excel is "Options", or Print Options. From there you can set all kinds of things, and there should be a box you can check for Print Grayscale for whatever you are trying to print at the moment. You can also set grayscale as a default setting for all printing on your windows device, but then you have to tell it when you want color every time. Alternatively, on your Printers Menu System, on the third page of your little printer screen, there is a Settings option. This will lead you to all printer settings including grayscale printing setup.

Color Cartridge out of ink - override/print in grayscale?

USUALLY there is a setting in the printer setup or propperties that you can specify gray scale right before printing. It normally is on the same screen that print preview is offered. Search the menu items for it.

When I want to print a clipart picture in grayscale, my printer still does a pinkish color. This is a problem with my church bulletin.

The software print setting is probably designated as color. Follow these steps to check this setting:
  1. In the software application you are trying to print from, click File , and then click Print . The Print dialog box opens.
  2. Make sure your printer is selected, then click Preferences . The printer Preferences dialog box opens.
  3. Select the Color tab, then make sure that the Print in grayscale option is selected.

How do I print a selection from apage? and how do I print grayscale?

1) Let's assume you have clicked and dragged your mouse to select some text on a page. To print only the selected text, go to File (at the top of the page), then Print. You should then see a dialogue box which gives you the option to print a selection (on my hp printer, it is under 'Page Range').

You can also try the keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+P, to bring up the dialogue box.
Don't just click the printer icon you see on the menu, because that will print out the full page using your default settings.

2) You should be able to select grayscale by using the same dialogue box. Click the button marked 'Preferences', then the tab for 'Color' and you should see the grayscale option.

I don't know your printer model so the options may be slightly different for you, but hope this helps you get started.

How can I print Black only?

HP Inkjet printers work only if both the cartridges have ink unlike HP Laserjet printers.
If you want the printer to print only in black, Follow the steps

Start --->Control panel -- >Printers and faxes ---->Right click on the printer icon (HP c5100) select printing preferences.
Under printing prefences there u will see an option to print with black or print in gray scale.

Note:HP Inkjet printers like Photosmart C5180 will work only both the cartridges have ink.

Printing in Grayscale or black

Too few manufacturers will allow their units to print in grayscale when a color toner is low or empty. The only way to get your unit working is by installing the required toner. By the way, start a budget to buy the transfer belt, drum unit, waste toner bottle and fuser unit. These are also consumables with a lifecycle.
