Question about Canon PIXMA MP530 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Micro chips not being read. Error U150

I purchase refills, and put the micochip off the orginal cartidges on the refill. Then reset printer by selecting the rest button, then unplugging for about 30 seconds. That worked the first time.

Later purchased more refills did the same thing. This time it did not work.

We tried by removing the power cord from the machine - and the error disappeared. Maybe for good, who knows? Linda Sanders, www.ozfeathers.com.au

Ive refilled ink cartridge and put it back in printer but the printer is still indicating empty cartridge and wont print. How do I reset the firmware on printer so it accepts cartridge as new?

Often times it is the chip in the cartidge that needs resetting - depending on the brand, there are various tools needed to reset - sometimes needing a new chip. Printer manufactures have gotten stingy with ink and want people to buy genuine new cartidges. The best advice I can give you is try to get to an ink refill shop and see if they can reset the chip in the cartridge.

I tried to refill the ink cartriage, and put into the ink tray. However, the printer said that the reminding level of ink cannot be detected. Replace the ink tank.

I recommend you not use refill ink cartriages as some ink refills ink are to thick for the type of printer. Always use orginal ink cartridges as there is a micro chip in the cartridge that communicates with the printer to let the unit know that it is an orginal cartridge. To thick of an ink will allow the ink to run out into the printers inernals and cause problems.

I just got my ink cartridges refilled and when I put them in my computer says check ink UP051. Even when I took the ink out and tried restarting it, it gave me the same error message.

A number of printers simply will NOT work with "Refilled" ink cartridges. This is because some have a "Chip" inside them that will not allow this to be done. They want you to buy their ink.. and buy a new cartridge each time... SOME places that refill them are able to reset the chip. However "They" have us all by the "Goolies" and as much as you may hate it the best way is to buy a new recommended cartridges. Sux huh?

I have refilled the ink cartidges, nothing is printing. i have a solid red and solid green light--it still indicates that the ink is empty on one color, it won't run a test sheet or nozzle check. help! ...

there are devices used to reset these chips but if you are going to reset it manually it will be imposible to do so, manufaturers have an expiration date on this chips, that manufacturer always reminds us to buy a new fresh cartridges, these cartridges has limits on how many time you can refill in my experience i only refill it 2 to 3 times before i purchased a new set of cartridges to avoid any damages to the printer

Ink Refill for HP Photosmart c7280 not working

Hi Lisa,

If it responds ok with the old cartridge then the problem is with the cartridges' chip not the printer. Probably the manufactor has a problem with certain cartridge chip (contact them!). I would suggest to use the original at the problematic spot if it works without a problem.

Printer doesn't reset after refil

I don't know what this "refill starter pack" contains but you HAVE TO change the chip of the cartridge otherwise the printer does not know that you changed/refilled the cartridge.

U150 error on MP600 Canon printer

Canon should offer a product recall on all printers affected by this common U150 problem. I wonder though if they are even aware of it, or care. There are no forums (as far as I can see) on the Canon web site. Maybe they're clueless, and that's bad. Maybe they're NOT clueless and don't care, and that's bad too.
