I have a compaq presario v6000 with vista basic installed. i have no clue why the external wont burn but I need it =/...Thank you for your time in advance.
You will find many programs (and therefore hardware devices) that are NOT supported by Vista. Many drivers have not been written yet. You very well will not find any drivers that work with this device.

SOURCE: 585avr isn't working w/vista OS,
While the 585AVR is not designed for Vista, it should work. You will need to use the CyberPower serial to USB cable, and the most recent version of PowerPanel Personal Edition software. You can download the latest software @ http://www.cyberpowersystems.com/software/PPPE_V_1.2.2_Setup.exe
If you have any questions, or need the CyberPower serial to USB cable, please contact CyberPower Systems Technical Support at 877-297-6937, M-F, 8-5 Central.
