Question about Ricoh Computers & Internet
I have sansung usb external dvd writer (Model-writemaster).It was working properly and I burned couple of dvds in last two months.But in few days after connecting it show some error on divice manager and couldn't burn any dvd or cd.I try to solve that problem updating usb drivers and connect it to another machine but get same error.dvd burner can operate externally ( open /close the tray by pressing the eject button) and connect it to ide port by passing usb interface then it work properly.I think problem on usb interface how can resolve this ? pls reply me immediately best regards Asiri

have you checked the web site for drivers update and which burning software are you using if you are using on board xp stop using this and got for nero burning if you are on xp sp1 and try and upgrade to xp sp2 or win 2000 sp4 and clean cd lense and try that if same resaults it's time to redo windows as you may have currupted dll files and change usb leads over if possable

what operating system are you using? has there been some upgrades in your system? have you tried to update the driver for your device? did you try to check if the imapi services is set to automatic and running in (click start>control panel>click administrative tools>services>double click IMAPI set to automatic and click start

It means that there's a misaligned disk inside. You need to
1. Unplug it and shake it side-to-side.
2. Then turn it on and press the open/close.
3. If it doesn't open, goto step 1.
4. When it opens, get the disks out, use disk exchange to try to get them all out.
5. Turn it off, unplug it, shake it again and make sure that there isn't another loose disk, if there is, then open it and get it out.
This is a known flaw in certain Panasonic DVD changers. Good luck
