Question about Goodman CKL24AR24 Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Fan won't come on, either when heater or air-conditioner is turned on.

It's a Goodman model #PGB036100-1A. One day (couple weeks ago), the A/C was working fine, but then some moderate Fall weather came into the area, and I didn't use the A/C (nor the heater for a while). But now, the weather got cold, and when I went to turn on the heater, nothing happened (no blower fan at all). Then I tried the A/C, and it didn't work either. I tried putting the fan on "On" instead of "Auto", but that didn't work either. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I have a York system that has the same symptoms. We used the AC this summer, all worked great. But now the furnace doesn't work. We had is come on once and now nothing. I can't even get the fan to blow when I change the setting from Auto to On. Nada. I have checked the breakers, I have done the "reset" that the instruction on the inside door of the furnace suggested. I can here something running in the furnace, but no heat, no blower. Any suggestions?

We have the same problem. Last night we shut off the heat, went to bed, woke up, turned the heat on and nothing. I checked all the above and still nothing. THe night before when we were playing cards, I thought I heard a strange sounding faint noise that I never heard before. It was like the blower fan needed oil. I dont know where this fan is though.

I have a Goodman GUX060-3 and the burner will ignite but the blower won't come on in the Auto mode. The fan does come on in the manual setting but I believe that is tied to the AC control. Any ideas? I'm thing it is the fan limit control.

You have lost all control voltage. that is generated in the furnace. either the transformer has failed or the fuse in the transformer board has blown or the circuit breaker to the furnace has tripped or you have an open circuit to the furnace in the high voltage wiring. grab a volt meter and start with checking high volts at the furnace and back to the panel. if you have volts then start checking to see if transformer is generating low volts. as a side, if this is a furnace be sure the door is on secure and the door safty switch is depressed or guess what! no fan no volts no nothing. if any lights on board are flashing etc then you have power and it becomes a control problem. be sure your low voltage is getting sent to the stat via red and common on the furnace terminal board. good luck

Goodman Model CPLE24-1C - Two Units. One unit works fine, second outside unit will not engage.

It sounds like the run capacitor(silver can in control box) has failed if your comfortable around electrical you can change it; just replace it with the same rating as your other one. Make sure the power is off and write down it rating (i.e. 35+5 370 or 440 volts for a dual or 35 370 or 440 volts for a single).

New goodman 2.5ton and 2.5-3.5 airhandler installed 8weeks ago, worked well for about a week, then the problems begain, heatpumps reversing value replaced already, but unit still does not cool well,when...

There could be several things wrong. The unit could be undersized but since it worked fine in the beginning, we'll rule that out. There could be a refrigerant leak. Check and see if the evaporator coils (inside furnace) are sweating all the way to the top. The new refrigerant in these units makes it absolutely critical they be charged correctly. The expansion valve also requires adjusting sometimes, if so equipped. Just keep talking to the installers. It sounds like they will eventually get it right for you. Sometimes it takes several trips to get everything adjusted perfectly.

Outside a/c fan quits but compresser still runs

it sounds like the fan is over amping itself and shutting down on thermal overload check the amp draw during running time and compare it to the sticker on the outside panel it should be running .9 amps, and it will over heat if it runs around 1.2 amps or above

New Goodman condenser unit run almost contiously using too much e

I'm not sure of the kilowatts. The 10 min on and 5 off is telling me there is to much heat by the thermostat or you house needs more insulation. The new compressor is designed for more efficient run time. The other thing is the unit to big for your house? It should run 10 -15 min when low humidity is in the house. Otherwise longer if its pretty warm inside.

Blower in house runs, but compressor outside does not

Sounds like control voltage problem. Tsat mat be bad. It is hard to say without looking. Next time this happens. Have someone stands out side by the unit to see if the contactor is pulling in. When you turn the Tstat off and wait and turn it on you may be manually make the contact in the Tstat. If the fan and compressor are not running when you call for cool, Most of the time it is the control voltage. Let me know if the outside fan runs and the compressor does not. Rusty

Goodman air conditioner not running

2 summers ago, exact same problem with one of our two units outside. contractor that installed the unit when home was built was not helpful and not able to come out. another a/c company explained they would not be able to make it that day, but offered knowledge that often times in my area (San Antonio, TX) ants get into the electrical contacts of the mechanical switch and block the current.

following instructions to trip all the breakers inline and checking this it was confirmed, i cleaned the contacts with pencil erasers (a trick i learned with model car electric leads) and sure enough it's still working 2 years later.

believe it or not the same year my water well had the same symptoms and it turned out to be the mechanical switch was blocked by ants also!
