Dvds some dvds play full screen on my hdtv and other dvds play with large border on top and buttom

This is the dvds themselfs some are recorded in full screen mode and some are in wide screen mode (the ones with the borders

If you are using cable TV there a button on the remote "*" which zoom in and out. You can also check with your cable company in case you have HD TV and not using a HD box.

When I play dvds or watch videos on youtube the screen has a black border on both sides reducing the size of the screen


If you hit full screen on the youtube video and its not full screen, then it sounds like your monitor resolution is to low.

Rt click on a place on your screen and pick screen resolution, then pick resolution and increase it.

The first number is width, so say it's on 800x600 then go 1024x768

When on wide mode there the full screen is not


This is very normal not all channels are HD some programs are taped like that will not fill your screen like dvd movies are.

Screen does not fill completely


The most obvious answer would be to try the "ratio" button on your remote. This will cycle through the different aspect ratios so you can find one that suits you.

I put DVDs inside of my 360, but it shrinks the screen.


try checking the picture settings on your tv, it may be on 4:3 mode

Playing back widescreen problem


The TV itself uses the CTC203 chassis and is not capable of switching between normal and widescreen. This is an issue with your DVD player and not a problem with the TV.
