I tried to reset my Acer AX3400-U3O32 desktop computer to it's factory default settings after it wouldn't connect to internet and it would't finnish rebooting. This pop up window came up: "Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart installation". Restarting computer just returned me to same pop up above the words "Setup is starting services".

The laptop won’t POST after removing the memory? Sounds like the memory module (s) need to be reseated again. Removing memory will not reset the laptop. If you want to install a clean Windows XP load, you need to boot from the Windows CD and format the hard drive.

Hello
It would appear that your computer is having an issue with a device driver and that is causing the netbook to continually reboot. You have two options:
1. Boot the computer to Safe Mode and see if you can find the faulty driver and fix it (all of your data is saved)
2. Restore the entire computer to the factory defaults using the recovery disk (all of your data is erased)
For option 1 - use the following to boot the comuter into Safe Mode
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true
Choose network boot if possible so you can connect to the Internet with this system. If you cannot connect, you will need to use the below link on another comptuer and download the drivers for your netbook and install them individually.
http://support.acer.com/supportdocs.aspx
For option 2 - plug the optical drive into the USB port, press F2 when turning the netbook on to enter BIOS. Insert the Acer Recovery Media into the drive and go to BOOT and select USB CDROM. Follow the on-screen prompts to re-image your netbook.

SOURCE: WINDOWS 7 WON'T RELOAD
Before reloading Use a system utility tool like Reginout for an instant fix.
You may need to restore your Acer computer to its factory defaults if a virus damages operating files or if the system begins acting erratically for unknown reasons.
Restoring an Acer to factory defaults returns the computer to its original state when first purchased.
Click on the Start menu.
Then, select all programs, Acer Empowering Technology and Acer eRecovery Management.
If this is the first time you have opened the program it will prompt you to set up a password and create a backup CD.
Click the Restore button and select the option that reads "Restore system to factory defaults".
Wait for the computer to finish the restore process and reboot.
Restoring for the Boot Screen
If your computer will not boot up properly, you can attempt to reach the restore option by pressing the Alt button and the F10 button at the same time.
When the eRecovery menu appears, choose "restore system to factory defaults".
Wait for the recovery process to complete and the computer to restart.
Hope this helps
Click "Start" menu.
Click "Programs."
