Thank you for the suggestion to try the cartridge. I have checked all the plastic tabs inside the machine and all look well... I am just trying to save myself $120.00 service charge if I can take care of it myself. I'm sure you understand... again thanks

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black

Try opening and closing the machine doors.

Remove the cartridge and put it back in place.

If there is no foreign object, and no paper, and machine still does not work, then it is the sensor, and the machine must be taken apart to fix it.

Try also sliding inside a piece of paper, and see if this unlock the sensors.

The paper sensors are small tabs that tell the machine where the paper is, if tey get stuck you get paper jam.

I have a ricoh ft5535 copier. When I click copy the display panel reads, "misfeed remains inside" and the area "A" light comes on. There is no paper in the machine anywhere.

This alert can result from the smallest portion of a paper misfeed. Open all doors and look into each roller corner for a piece of paper that may have been jarred into a corner.

My fax is having a problem feeding pages through the document feeder, it doesn't always grad the page, and if it doesn't get it, it acts like it has a paper jam, what is causing this?

Open the document feeder. Inside you will find a grey feed roller. Cleaning this roller with a cloth dampened with water will help with these paper jams in the document feeder.

Says there is a paper jam but we looked everywhere and there is no paper stuck anywhere in the machine

soes it say original jam or just paper jam if the jam is in th document feeder part open the top and check the sensors where the paper goes trhough.you may have to take the toner/drum unit out to reset the jam also if there is a door on the back open and close this to reset the sensors. If there was no paper the first time check the paper tray by pulling out and then look inside where the tray sits as the poaper might be stuck there.. also check the tray in that the paper sits tight in the guides and the rollers that feed are not dirty. If turning on and off doesnt get rid of the jam there is something stuck on one of the sensors..Goood Luck A

Document Feeder Jamming.

The feed rollers may be worn out and need to be replaced, you can try cleaning the rollers with some alcohol, this may also make it feed better. but if it starts to act up again it might be time for new rollers.

Hope this is of some help.

Paper Jam message

There are a couple of sensor flags in side the machine and also the document feeder area. Little black levers that flip and trip a sensor. Make sure they are all moving freely. There is one or two in the doc feed area. One inside the paper feed area. One or two in the ribbon area.

Fax Machine Jams Everytime I Try to Load Paper...

Is it jamming at the document feeder, or in the blank paper tray? You may need to clean the feed rollers. Use a lint-free cloth (not paper) and some alcohol.
