My dryer makes intermittent loud squealing sounds when turned on. I have opened up the machine and have a repair kit for the belt and rollers- do i need to get a drum support as well?
My dryer of the same model number had the same issue. The teflon/plastic wear points are worn out or have fallen off. They are about $22.00 plus shipping at the site below. Disconnect the power, lift (with force) the top off at the front of the dryer and you will have access to remove and replace.
Felt glide assembly - Upper felt seal with three glides attached. Comes with adhesive. Part Number: AP2150497 made by FRIGIDAIRE
Do not believe that that will be necessary, if you have rollers in the front they are probably the source of you squeal. I replaced my rollers with nylon skids and fixed my problem and thus far they have lasted longer than the rollers.

GE DBL333EA Electric Dryer: The dryer will start once after a long period of rest, but have to hold down the start switch like priming. If it doesn't start it will grind till there is no sound on the start, then dead untill another long period of rest. The dryer does not run each time the start switch is turned. If the dryer runs, everything works just fine.
