Re: microwave

I think You should replace the GEAR that makes it turn, or just do what 'techman' Says.

Bosch microwave oven, turntable not working, food not heated

Even if the turntable isn't turning, the oven should still heat the food but it will be uneven cooking. I would suggest that the unit is not "microwaving" This is usually the high voltage capacitor, fuse or diode failure. You will need knowledge of how microwave ovens work and specialist tools to test these. If you don't, I would suggest you get a tech who does. There are extremely high voltages in microwave ovens.

Cynthia. Look at this diagram

The odds are that microwave is going to be a little complicated to fix that problem. You have to pull the microwave out and take it completely apart if you want to change anything. This is a high level job that requires security torx bits. I wouldn't really recommend trying to fix this one yourself because it's a really hard job. If you're gonna take the time out to do this job you're gonna have to uninstall it out of the cabinet and disassemble the entire cabinet off the microwave. I would recommend ordering the door switches, main board and turntable motor and replace them all if you're going through that effort.

Sounds like stuck relay contacts. Magnetrons need a high voltage source which is controlled by a micro to relay and then from relay to voltage source. Even the turntable works via a relay.

Microwave timer works but will motor will not run/cook.

If everything works on the unit, but you do not receive any heat or possibly the turntable does not turn you have a faulty magnetron (controls heat) and a faulty motor (controls turntable). You would require service on the unit, if parts are available. Some microwaves are so small in cubic foot size, that manufacturer's do not have parts available for purchase/repairs.

Turn table stopped spinning

If everything on the microwave works, except the turntable, this could be a simple turntable drive motor failure. It does happen from time to time. This motor gets a workout as it runs each and every time you use the oven. I just want to reassure you that these DO wear out and should not be an indication of the quality of the oven. I've had to replace them before. The motor costs about $34 at That is...if your model number is correct. You will need to go to the web site and type in your COMPLETE model number. There are several Kitchen-Aid models listed with the number you provided. I managed to scroll through several of the part listings and they all seem to be consistent with identfying the motor you need as item #11 under the "Oven Cavity" heading. The part number is W10159107. This is a fairly simple repair job. You shouldn't have to uninstall the oven if it is cabinet mounted. All have to do is unplug the power source and remove the panel covering the underside of the microwave. The plastic spindle just pulls off the motor shaft. Let me know if you need further assistance. I hope this helps you.

SANYO EM-D9550. Turntable turns when off but not when cooking.

That's sounds pretty strange!

Since I don't have any service data on Sanyos, I'd have to speculate.

I would guess that one scenario that could cause it would be if the turntable were turned off via the control panel, but there was a switch or switch mount problem.

I would refer you to their support people:
