Panasonic CT-36D31E Television

In March, 2008 a Panasonic repairman fixed a horizontal problem with the TV. Since then, my TV goes off 10 to 20 times per day. It goes off for 1 to 5 minute intervals and comes back on by itself. Thinking it was a cable probem, we have had Comcast out several times. We still have the same problem. Please help....

I think there is some defect in Power supply board .

You need to check any bad soldering or cracks in tv .

Also need to check fuse and inverter .

How old is your tv ?

It appears to be a heat related issue if the TV goes OFF and come backs ON by itself. Inside the TV circuitry there are a few hundreds of solder joints and once one or a few of them do not conduct electricity well enough, the TV will have this type of behavior. The solder joints become dry or crystallized due to overheating, specially around components that have high current flow.
This type of repair is not a DIY if you do not have the tools or the know how.

Seems to me that the technician messed up something on the power board when he repaired the horizontal amp.. I would check for faulty solders, or components first. However, if you do not have prior experience, I would recommend getting a technician to do this, as it is very dangerous to open up a TV.

You could try a hard reset first and see if that helps: Unplug TV from power source and cables for about 2-3 hours and try again...

Our tv, a Panasonic # CT-36D11E/CT-36D11 only shows a horizontal thin line across the screen. The sound is fine - any ideas? Is it time to replace or could it be repaired cheaply?

Resolder the vertical IC and replace those capacitors near and next to your vertical IC. If the horizontal line still appears, you may have to replace the IC. Thanks for asking and be caredful!

We have a panasonic ct-36d31e that has developed a degaussing problem now. Rainbow colors - magnets haven't helped neither has power drill placed near the screen. Is there a degauss button on this model...

Hi Tracy,
Unfortunately magnets etc will most likely do all but improve the problem. When a T.V set is turned on it automatically degausses (demagnetises) the tube. However, if the screen does not degauss, its most likely a small electronic component in the degaussing circuit which has burnt out. This component is usually black in color, is rectangular and about the size of of the T.V. screen displayed alongside your question. Its inexpensive to replace(less than $5) and can be found at most electronic component stores.
Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Best wishes,
Graemevm

I'm looking for the same info... my CT-32sx12f is completely dead too. I was wondering if the IC regulator or the flyback is bad. Fuse is fine. Anyone have any wisdom or experience on these sets they can interject? Thanks!

Picture bounce

I think that maybe your horizontal hold is messed up. If there is anyway you can change it with a button or dial or something on the TV that would do it but if there isn't one then there is nothing you can do but to take it to a repairman but it is really expensive. You'll probably spend more on fixing it than you for the TV itself. You're better of to get a new television.
