Hey randallbmtk,my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network and I was reading over your post andsee that the DISH remote will not work the Phillips TV. There are some steps toget this remote programmed to your TV, we have what we call a Power Scan and itwill find the right code to your TV so you can turn it on and off. I will sendthe link to help with these steps. http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/power-scan-instructions
Hi, it is possible to get screens for your tv but usually only by looking on places like ebay for a tv that has good screen but has other faults and on the rare occasion you will see sellers that sell the actual screen but both thses are very rare, alot of people will make an insurance claim or just get the TV replaced as the cost of the screen outwieghs the tv's value.
Click here at Philips firmware support center seems like this could be a firmware problem as Philips is known for in the TV repair trade. Download the latest version upload too your TV via connect card or USB see if this clears this problem. If not then its probably the infra-red sensor in the TV which is not working and needs to be replaced. Also be sure there are no parental locks which could influence remote control response...
it cannot be done by ur self but if u have a electronics knowledge u can open the back cover after unplugging the cable cord and check for the power sock connection near the main switch of ur tv (please dont touch any other components of ur tv as it contins 28 kv of heavy power)
