Question about Ricoh Office Equipment & Supplies

Ricoh 551 Will not power up. Seems to be a problem with internal power supply. Turn off and back on and never truly warms up. The individual with the maintenance agreement passed away and I am having trouble finding someone to service the reconditioned copier that is still under lease at our church.

Debería revisar la placa de la fuente de alimentación, podrían haber soldaduras defectuosas.

It would have to review the board of the power supply, could have defective solder.

CAREFULLY check that ALL doors and cabinet parts on the machine are PROPERLY closed. Any interlock not being actuated can keep machine from turning on.

Copier will not turn on....had a storm and power outage earlier this week. Brother MFC-6490CW.

Seems the is an internal problem due to overvoltage. This could be caused due lightning.
If you are lucky only an internal fuse is blown. Else the power supply is gone ... In the worst case also other electronic parts are damaged.

Our canon MP560 printer will not turn on - it was plugged into a surge protector and we have tried moving the plug to alternate outlets just to make sure that wasn't the!

This is what worked for me. I had a similar setup and could not get the printer to turn on. Remove the power supply from the back of the machine. It is a very simple process: pull apart two small plastic connectors with your fingers to remove power supply. Disconnect internal blue cable from power supply.

Replug blue cable and be sure it is plugged in tight.
Push power supply back into place, be careful of blue cable when pushing it back into printer.
Plug in and printer just may work...good luck!

I bought a MFC-7840W 120v to asia and plugged it into the local socket seems it popped and does not power on, was told it had an international power supply. Nothing was smoking or seemed burnt. Is there a...

An International Power Supply usually has a power selector switch on the back of the printer. Asia uses 240 VAC (At least I think it does).

Check the back of the printer and make sure that it is set properly and try again.

Be aware that if you plugged a 220/240 source into the printer and the printer is set for 110, then more than likely, you have fried the power supply.

Permanent warming up message

When you replace a power supply for this machine, it needs to be the correct power supply for this model. If you have the old one, check to make sure the right power supply was ordered for this specific model.
Because I cannot see the display, and we only know what it is saying, the next best thing would be to see if the fuser warmed up at all. Open the side door and gently feel the fuser frame to see if it is warm at all. Do not touch the Fuser roll; it is hot even to the slightest touch.
If it is not hot, make sure all the plugs were correctly plugged into the power supply.
On this problem there can be other factors that can cause warming up.
First, the fuser assembly may be defective and needs replacement.
Second the main board may be gone out.
And last if the machine has memory chips in the back, unplug the machine, remove the small cover from the back and unplug the simms chips and reseat them. Plug in the machine, then power it on.
See if the machine will go to a ready.
If not, possibly the fuser, or main board, or both. If the main board or(and) the fuser assembly is replaced,

If all else fails, Place a Xerox Service Call on the machine before it gets too expensive in troubleshooting the problem with purchased parts.

My printer jammed. I believe I got out all of the

Please follow the instructions given below to troubleshoot the power issue:
1. Connect the printer directly to the power outlet. Surge protectors can actually draw power away from the printer. If this fails, please try multiple power outlets to ensure your specific outlet is not damaged, and make sure the printer is not connected to the PC while testing the unit.
2. When trying to power on the printer, feel the power supply box (if there is one) and note whether or not it is warm. If it is warm, the problem is not in your power supply, but most likely in your printer. If it is cold, the power supply might be defective.

hmmm..sounds like a truly unhappy printer..unplug from computer...power down printer..wait 5 min..power up again..see what it says on panel..if it does not power up, then you either have a bad power supply or a bad control board internally

you have a warranty on this item?
