Try a format - The below was copyed from an earlier post of mine. Over a period of time your info can get corrupt from transering music back and forth. To format plug it in to usb. Go to my computer It shows up as a removably disc, usually drive f: Right click on drive f: (or the approriate drive) and click format. Let me know what happens, you will have reload the player, also try bypassing the software you are using to tranfer, by opening up drive f: and clicking and dragging your music into it , or you can copy and paste it into drive f: L8R

When RCA first came out with the Lyra series the only way to get music1.gif onto the device was by using musicmatch jukebox that would convert your mp31.gif file to mpy before downloading it to the device. But now RCA has come out with a new firm ware update for these mp3 players that improved the players playback quality plus enabled it to use .WMA files. so first go to RCA support and find your player and download the firmware and drivers (if needed) upgrade and install to your player its very easy and instructions are at the same site. You can now convert your music to .wma or use the free Real player that will convert mp3 to wma1.gif at the kbps that you request before loading it on. If your music is all ready in wma format you can use windows media player to send the files to your player. One last thing the .wma files that you put on your Lyra player need to be at least 128kbps or higher enhanced playback quality of wma files (160 kbps to 256 kbps).

SOURCE: RCA OPAL M4008 screen is blank and now it won't come on

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

SOURCE: frozen at the opening screen, can't be detected by the computer

Actually, the firmware software will fix your Pearl even though the computer won't detect it right now. It worked for me and I've fixed my sony phone the same way. Try grabbing the latest firmware here:
And make sure you follow all the directions that popup, including removing the battery, holding play when you plug it in, and formatting the data area.

I have a new laptop... I am trying to download music from my computer to my ipod. I think I am missing some kind software to make this happen.

If you do not have iTunes already downloaded onto your new laptop then you need to download it before you can put music from your computer onto your iPod.
Go to this link to download iTunes (free). Once it is downloaded, you have to import your music that's on your computer onto your iTunes. This will take a while if you have a lot of music.
After that is done, you will be able to plug your iPod into your laptop and iTunes should recognize it and from there you'll be able to put your music onto the iPod.
Remember though, after you format your iPod to a PC you cannot plug it into a Mac (or Mac then to a PC) to put music on it, as it is already formatted to one and if you want music from the other you will have to reformat it which causes you to lose all of your music currently on it.
Be sure that the computer you are formatting it to (PC or Mac) is the kind you will be using for music at all times.
I hope this helps :)

Sansa 250 - Having problems downloading music?

You could try opening the folder(s) with your saved music and highlight all the ones you want to transfer to your mp3 player and then right click on one of the highlighted files, left click on Copy, then go to My Computer > Sansa e250 mp3 player should be listed in there, double click on it, then right click in a open white area and left click Paste. It should copy the music right to your player. You could also try using Rhapsody and import your music into it. I use Rhapsody for transferring music to my e250 Sansa mp3 player.

Ipod shown in recovery mode when plugged into new itunes version

Each iPod usually only syncs up to 1 computer. try downloading a program called idump. It allows you to take all of your music and files off the ipod and onto the computer, without having to restore. Then you'll have to restore the ipod, and put all the songs back onto it.

Computer Won't Recognize Device

Try plugging your USB cable (attached to your player) into the computer before you turn the computer on and boot up . . . I had this same problem with a flash drive that the computer would not recognize if I plugged it into the computer while the computer was already on.
