Re: can't install micro. office on vista
If you are installing from disk, simply insert the disk with the program on and follow the on-screen instructions.
If you want to install from the internet you can either choose to 'run' or 'save'. Vista will automatically save to the downloads folder. If you choose to run, then the program will install itself. If you choose to save, once the program has downloaded go to the folder where you saved it 'probably in downloads' then double click the program to run the installation.

You can go to the control panel > add/remove programs, select the program that you want to remove and select remove, then restart your system and upon installing, insert the driver cd and install it.
hope it helps,
You can't really download Outlook Express as it is part of Windows XP. If it is not there, you can add it though the Add/Remove Programs option in the Control Panel. Select the Windows Components icon in the left-hand pane.
In Vista Outlook Express is replaced by Windows Mail, and in Windows 7 there is no email program, but you can download Windows Live Mail.
Ther are known conflicts with Vista and IE8 - particularly with Vista 64-bit.
I would suggest uninstalling IE8 and reinstalling IE7 or using an alternative browser such as "slimbrowser" (excellent program) or similar.
IE8 can be uninstall by using Add or Remove Programs module in Windows XP, but in Windows Vista, Windows Internet Explorer 8 is not considered to be a ‘program’. Instead, IE8 is categorizing as an ‘update’. Thus, users will not be able to find Windows Internet Explorer 8 in “Programs and Features” of Windows Vista.
To uninstall Internet Explorer 8, go to Control Panel, and click on Uninstall Programs link or Programs and Features icon. Then on Tasks pane on the left, click on View installed updates link. Locate and select Windows Internet Explorer 8 in the list of installed updates, and then click on Uninstall button. Click on Yes when asked that are you sure want to uninstall the update.
If there is no option of IE8 been found on “Programs and Features” or “Add or Remove Programs” dialog box, or uninstallation of Internet Explorer 8 is unclean (causing error message such as setup cannot continue because a more recent version of Internet Explorer has been detected on this computer when trying to downgrade to IE7), try to manually run the spuninst.exe.
To do so, go to C:\WINDOWS\ie8\spuninst\ folder (your drive letter may be different), and run spuninst.exe.
Restart the computer after uninstallation completed.
To uninstall an update, go to the control panel (Start --> Control Panel). Select Add/Remove programs. When this launches, check the "Show Updates" box in the top of the window. Scroll to the Microsoft or Windows section, and you should see the Service Pack 1 update. Clicking on this gives you a button to remove it.
Avg 8.0 may not be compatible with vista. You can try to reinstalled your windows security by selecting them from the add/remove programs feature in windows setup, located in the control panel. It's hidden in there but available through searching.
I would recommend using Windows One Care. If you install that from Microsoft.com, it may turn your Windows security back on while making it possible to usinstall AVG.
You need the magnifier from the Accessibility tools. On Windows XP this can be found in Start Menu -> Accessories -> Accessibility -> Magnifier (if it's not installed, go to Control panel -> Add/remove -> Add Windows Components and install it)
On Windows Vista it's in All Programs -> Accessories -> Ease of Access -> Magnifier.
You have done big mistake that's why you are getting problem.
1)Regarding installation of win XP over windows vista. You have to install first lower version and then higher version i.e. you should install first win xp and then windows vista. But vice-versa you can't do it. So my suggestion is that format your c drive then install win XP after installation win XP install win vista.
2) which operation system do you want to open . You can remove it using windows tweak utility software wich is freely available on most of the website. Also you can manually edit it. For manually do this.( i m not sure about windows vista it is available or not) right click on my computer->click on Advanced Tab->setup and recovery framework click on settings->click on Edit button You will see the boot.ini file. You can remove the windows XP line from that file.
